Dear Sorter, I must correct you

Dear Sorter,

I noticed that this evening you left me a rep message. While I appreciate the positive nature of your reputation, and would enjoy receiving future posirep from you, I must point out a mistake in the rep message you left for me.

This is incorrect punctuation on your part. "We're" means "we are," so in essence your message reads "we are are," which of course is just terribly wrong.

The word you're looking for is "We." Then your sentence would be correct, and this rep message would have been perfect.

Just wanted to bring that to your attention and again, no disrespect intended. I did enjoy the rep message and hope you will leave me future positive rep messages, although not necessary of course.

Also, Hootie, I don't want to steal any of your attention tonight so please don't take this thread as an invasion of your stage. That was certainly not my intent and I don't even really like attention at all. In fact the less attention this thread receives the better, so if people could refrain from posting in here I would appreciate that.

Yours Sincerely,

Phobia

Dear CrazyCoffey,

I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't post in this thread. This thread is just to correct Sorter, who made a mistake in a rep message left to me earlier this evening. That's the purpose of this thread. There's no need for you or anyone else to post in here tonight or at any time.

Please respect my wishes. But of course, if you choose to post in here anyway to entertain yourself, that's perfectly acceptable. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do and it's a free forum.

Yours Sincerely,

General Dwight D. Eisenhower

Probably time to switch to a higher quality gin.

Maybe the tobacco you're spitting all over the place contributed to it?

Dear Sorter,

I enjoy alcohol on occasion, too. But I've literally never made one single grammar, spelling or punctuation mistake here on Chiefsplanet. Your gin, Sapphire or not, is no excuse. I expect people to abide by the rules of the English language when they leave me rep. Of course it's your choice, but I think we can all agree this place would be better if we post in a civilized manner.

If you wish to continue drinking and posting, that's your decision, and I'm not going to complain about it. But certainly I can complain about poorly constructed rep messages you leave for me in the future.

Think about it, at least? For me? Anyway, thanks for reading the thread, and I'm sure you'll take care of this issue in the future.

Yours deliciously,

Julia Child

P.S. - To all else, please stop posting in this thread. The attention is completely unnecessary. You're aggravating me, and I do not wish to become irate.

Dear Hootie,

You have your own threads, use them. This thread is just for Sorter. You're really getting on my nerves now. Don't you have enough threads?

I mean, I don't wish to complain, but you leave me no choice. Certainly you're welcome to post in here, but that's not what this thread was ever intended for. And your sentence composition is just revolting.

Yours irritatingly,

Norman Rockwell

P.S. - I know you ****ed her.

It's probable but unlikely.

I'd have to do more research into it. Anyone know any peer-reviewed articles on the affects of chewing tobacco in relation to the decline of writing skills?
