Men did give women periods. Their misery is our fault.

Actually it is a consequence of walking upright. According to Darwin if there is a genetic "accident" which results in something that improves the creature's chance of survival that trait has a good chance of continuing. eg. Giraffe's neck getting longer so that it can reach the leaves in the trees.

The old theory of the menstrual cycle is that the lining of the uterus had to slough off to prepare it for the attachment of the fertilized egg. The new theory is that it is discharged because this gets rid of any possible infection that may have developed in the uterus thereby increasing the survive ability of the female.

The male had his own evolution. The mammals before the primates walked on four feet and the penis was sheathed. This kept it from getting stepped on, knocked around and kept it clean. When man was walking upright this arrangement resulted in urinary tract infections which were not the best arrangement for survival. Now men had free swinging members that could get covered with mud, grime, sludge etc.

So there you have it: Women have periods because of MEN AND THEIR DAMNED DIRTY DICKS.

This reminds me of a job I had in a nursing home in 91.
