DOD or Darron Lee!!!..can they step up?
Now the deadline has passed these are the two guys on the roster with reputations of being "good" in coverage from the line-backer position. So the question is do we have faith they have enough talent to at least be competent IF Spags gives them a chance? Lee's grades last year were said to have been very impressive in coverage but that's not been the case since he arrived In KC. Meanwhile DOD has been plagued by injuries and has simply not had a lot of chances to show what he can do. Spags and the other coaches have managed to make the secondary and pass-rush look Ok in recent weeks but I think the LB group will be their biggest challenge.

I thought last year that D'OD looked promising. Disappointed that he's not seeing the field at all this year. I'm sure there's a reason for that, but I don't get it.

All true. We have not invested shit into the position through the draft for years.

Darron Lee has turned into a steaming pile of shit. I have no idea how he went from an above average-sometimes excellent defender on the Jets to a total piece of garbage.
He has been one of the biggest disappointments for me on defense as I was very happy we got him. Hitchens just one step behind in the shithole department

While he doesn't have elite top-end speed, he's actually fairly quick and agile. Both he and Watts could fill the 3rd safety role if you were going to commit to having them shading RBs in the pattern. But again, now a LB has almost certainly come off the field and you're taking away from your run defense. At a certain point you can only do so much. We have too many 1-trick ponies in key spots and it forces us to make educated guesses on the play call. And when you guess wrong, Aaron Jones butt****s Anthony Hitchens and that's all she wrote. Not enough versatility in the LB corps and we're feeling it virtually every game. Wilson is as close to a 3-down capable LBer as we have and that's a pretty sorry statement.
