Go back and look at the circumstances of the trade before you start calling people a bunch of ****ing idiots.

1. We traded Tony Gonzales for a 2nd round pick.
2. We then used that 2nd round pick on Javier Arenas.
3. We traded Arenas for a FB.....when WE ALREADY HAD ****ING FOUR FULLBACKS ON THE ROSTER.

Gee....I wonder why people were pissed and wondering what Dorsey was doing.

I don't think that anyone is calling people idiot. I think that we all can agree that using the Tony G pick on Arenas was a horrible pick. We all hated that pick from the second it was made. Arenas lasted what? 1-2 years in the league after that trade? But it was a pick made by Pioli. Pioli was gone and Reid/Dorsey were having to totally rebuild the roster. They knew that Arenas was trash, so they got what they could for him. A fullback was a very unpopular trade around here with good reason. You can pick up a good fullback in rounds 6, 7, it even undrafted. So we were all unhappy about that. But fact is that the 2nd round pick was gone. Arenas was trash, and we were not getting anywhere near that value back out of him. Obviously, the 4 fullbacks on the roster didn't fit what Reid wanted. Turns out, it was a good trade. Sherman has been one our best guys on special teams, arguably the best fullback in the NFL, and he's still in the league and on the Chiefs long after Tony G and Javier Arenas have retired. I guess that maybe Reid and Dorsey might know what they're doing more than a bunch of guys on an internet forum. Imagine that.

Exactly. My only fault in not liking this trade was thinking that Javier Arenas could be an okay dimeback considering how he performed as a starter for half of 2012 and also considering our insane lack of CB depth that was currently on the team.

And even if you say, "Arenas was always garbage, what's one fewer piece of garbage in a big pile of garbage?" then that doesn't explain why Dorsey and Reid went all out in free agency trying to get the team to win immediately. We want to win now, but we're taking a dude from a very weak position (whether he's JAG or not) and trading him for a guy who plays an antiquated offensive position of which we've already spent 2 6th rounders in the past two drafts and two other guys who could also do the job. By the way, one of those 6th rounders was just used by the man who made the trade like A ****ING WEEK before the trade.

Hell, and you should also consider that one of the guys who was already on the roster, Patrick DiMarco, has made the Pro Bowl as a FB a few times since then.

I'm not saying I'm not wrong. I'm definitely wrong on the trade. But at the time, yes, the trade was pretty ****ing wasteful.
