If you havent seen the Tim Donaghy story on Netflix, you should watch it.
The NFL is the only league where NO Official has ever done anything wrong. Watch that show and then tell me theres no way that happens in the NFL. Its not fixing games, its more like steering them. Of course there are officials who dont like certain coaches or teams or players. Its human nature. Gambling is human nature. Wanting to make a ton of money is human nature. There are plenty of ways the NFL could fix this but they dont! They could make everything reviewable, afterall isnt it more important to get it right? They could allow Coaches to challenge anything? They could have someone in New York watching the games (Dean Blandino) who weighs in on controversial calls and is able to over ride decisions based on many different camera angles that maybe the Ref didnt see. This isnt a knock on officials as they only have one point of view. Its an effort to get calls right. These would also prevent officials from "steering" a game. |

I do agree that they should make everything reviewable. Not sure how much that would change things. Would coaches still be limited on challenges or would they get more? |
