NFL Draft With their first pick in the 2010 draft, the Chiefs select... - Page 3

So many holes...so many...it's honestly a toss up at a multitude of positions that the Chiefs could address with their #1 pick next year.

Here's a list of potential Top 10 canidates, in order of personal preference:

1. Brandon Spikes, LB; Florida
2. Terrence Cody, DT; Alabama
3. Jermaine Gresham, TE; Oklahoma
4. Sergio Kindle, LB/DE; Texas
5. Russell Okung, OT; OSU
6. Taylor Mays, S; USC or Eric Berry, S; Tennesee (either or)
7. Trent Williams, OT; OU
8. CJ Spiller, RB; Clemson
9. Dez Bryant, WR; OSU
10. Kris O'Dowd, C; USC

I'm already prepared for the fools to hype up McCoy, it's gonna be a long offseason.

I think it will be worse with Bradford. I can already see the people hyping up his completion percentage and how it means he will be a good NFL qb.

As much as I'd hate using a top 5 pick on a safety, historically teams will use it on a very rare talent. And in a 3-4, they have more opportunity to be a playmaker. If Mays becomes the next Harrison or Polamalu or Ed Reed, sign me up. I still think that when the Ravens moved to a 3-4, Reed became 100 times more important to that defense than Ray Lewis.

It's really funny seeing as Bradford will only be the 4th best prospect in the draft from his own team...

It will be really bad if some mock drafts continue to have him going No. 1 overall to Seattle.

Eric Berry is more Reed...Mays is kind of like LaRon Landry, he is huge fast and physical but he's not really a playmaker, he'll do his job as well as you could ever imagine but don't ever expect him to go Reed and change games.

If we draft a safety, and both are on the board, I would much prefer Eric Berry. He reminds me of Ed Reed.

A playmaker is a playmaker, and I think that Gresham has all the tools to be one of the really special players at his position. A bigger, faster version of Gonzalez that is, at the same point in his career, a substantially better blocker. A reliable passing game safety valve that helps your qb from getting killed is okay in my book.

The 2010 draft is really interesting. I think that there are a number of players who are substantially better than their 2009 counterparts. It's a deep draft talent wise at the top, and I think that there will be better opportunity for a team to move out of a top spot than the last draft, but if you stay, there is the chance to get a really special player. While their positions are not considered as typical "Top 5" draftable positions, I feel that Spikes, Berry and Gresham represent truly "special" type players. Once in a generation types. As well, guys like Okung, Mays, Cody and Kindle represent substantial upgrades at their respective positions versus their '09 draft counterparts; i.e., Okung looks to be a much better tackle prospect than Smith or Monroe, etc.

I question of when Berry and Mays measure in and workout that will be the point when Mays jumps ahead in rankings.

Yeah, I get that. And he hits hard. He's definitely a good prospect and will be very good in the NFL.

If I am drafting a safety in the top of a draft, he better be a playmaker, a la Ed Reed.

That's why I take Berry, no questions asked.
