With their first pick in the 2010 draft, the Chiefs select...

So many holes...so many...it's honestly a toss up at a multitude of positions that the Chiefs could address with their #1 pick next year.

Here's a list of potential Top 10 canidates, in order of personal preference:

1. Brandon Spikes, LB; Florida
2. Terrence Cody, DT; Alabama
3. Jermaine Gresham, TE; Oklahoma
4. Sergio Kindle, LB/DE; Texas
5. Russell Okung, OT; OSU
6. Taylor Mays, S; USC or Eric Berry, S; Tennesee (either or)
7. Trent Williams, OT; OU
8. CJ Spiller, RB; Clemson
9. Dez Bryant, WR; OSU
10. Kris O'Dowd, C; USC

I would really suck to find out that Berry is 5-foot-8 instead of 5-foot-10.

I think he really is 5'10 based upon what I've heard from people who've been close to him.

Mays is going to be used in numerous roles this year not just playing deep middle so he'll get a chance to show if he's a playmaker.

And this is just looking at it from a Chiefs perspective. Guys like Gerald McCoy of OU and Ndamukong Suh of NU are amazing players, who should be highly coveted by teams running a 4-3.

And I don't mention a guy like Carlos Dunlap, who is a beast, because we just picked up Jackson.

Then there are the qb's in McCoy, Bradford, Tebow and Snead.

There is a lot of talent at the top of this next draft. Big time. Might push a lot of guys into the second that have first round potential.

Doesn't seem to hurt Bob Sanders any.

Suh can play in a 3-4...the other guys can't.

Another guy who's an outstanding 3-4 prospect is Vince Oghabaase.

I'd jump for joy as a Husker fan if the Chiefs draft Suh to play nose tackle or defensive end. But I think it's wishful thinking.

Pollard and Mays.

The bait and switch. Come lured by the initial suck to meet a legit hammer.

See, the difference between GoChiefs and myself on this whole Pollard/LJ-trip, is that I'm not gonna' cry if Pollard gets the shaft because I know it's best for the team.

If LJ got benched or beat out by Charles? You'd find GoChiefs two months later in his Mom's basement surrounded by discarded pizza-roll boxes and wrapped up in a blanky while stuttering gibberish to the wall.

I'd cringe if they picked defensive line again, but watching this pre-season, it's obvious that they need a DT in the worst way. But you can say that about a lot of positions - tight end, right tackle, offensive guard, center, linebacker. I just don't know if you can actually say one position is more important than the other in terms of what the Chiefs need.

But Suh is one of the meanest guys I've seen play in a long time. Dude is just a baby eating hate machine on the field.

Wait. Do you mean "with the first pick in the 2010 draft" or "with their first pick in the 2010 draft" because that's two different things.

I think that it might just be synonymous considering the state of the Chiefs talent and schedule this season.

I'm gonna' say "potentially both" at this juncture.
