#2 Wide Receiver 2016-17

I still see #2 WR as a big hole. So, who do you guys want as our #2 next year?

Develop from within? I'm not confident that Wilson, nor Conley is our #2 next year.

Draft "The Guy"? I've read there are a lot of options in the draft again this year, but rookie WRs are mostly unreliable.

Vet FA? Several FAs coming up, but not sure who will get away from their current team: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/wide-receiver/

I could see them taking another Gronk-like TE and letting Harris, Parker and O'Shaunessey battle it out for the final roster spot/Practice squad but as a few others have mentioned, Right Tackle and Left Guard are the priorities, IMO, followed by another CB.

But I'm also confused as why the left guard of the future shouldn't be Mitch Morse. Fulton was very good at Center, Morse played Left Tackle in college and started out the season at right guard, so I'm just not sure why we haven't seen an offensive line combo of Fisher/Morse/Fulton/LDT/Reid.

It's kind of puzzling to me.
If Maclin got hurt tomorrow we'd be completely ****ed. Albert Wilson is "okay" and while I'm a huge fan of Conley, he hasn't proven much.

I want to get another speed receiver in the first 3 rounds to bolster the weaponry on offense and have reliable depth in a worst case scenario.

Oh, and **** Jason Avant. We need to replace him.

I can only get Jesse Haynsed so many times before I stop worrying about training camp heroes. I'm still waiting on Cameron Sheffield "who looks just like DJ in camp; even has the same build" to break out...

That's your problem right there. You think production = skill, and im telling you right now that if Aiken was a Chiefs his numbers wouldn't be that high. Albert Wilson is better than his numbers would suggest on the season.

There isn't a comparison you can make that would be valid, so just stop.

The fact that he's injured doesn't mean that the Ravens didn't have a much better #2 WR than Wilson when the season started.

Using your logic, I guess the Chiefs are better at QB than the Bengals and the Cowboys.

Right now? Yeah.....they are. The NFL is a right now league.

Aiken doesn't come near those stats if Steve Smith isn't injured.

Well, this is a little bit different because in addition to all of the glowing camp reports, he did look very good in his first preseason game before tearing his meniscus.

Stevie Johnson and/or Malcolm Floyd.

Both guys are presently kinda getting #1 targets but apart from just regurgitating stats, please tell me what either of those guys do on a football field better than Wilson. Floyd dropped one of the easiest TDs you'll ever see 2 weeks ago and it probably cost the Chargers the football game. The highlight of Steven Johnson's last 4 seasons was probably blowing out Berry's knee.

They're both big but heavy-legged WRs who run mediocre routes and have erratic hands. In other words, they're Bowe after Bowe got paid.

And there are plenty of others. Robert Woods, Taylor Gabriel, Nate Washington, Harry Douglas, Dwyane Harris, Riley Cooper, Josh Bellamy, Roddy White, Kenny Britt, etc...

These guys aren't demonstrably better than Wilson at pretty much anything. They get more targets (because again, 3.3 targets a game for Wilson) but they aren't going out there and doing anything with them that Wilson couldn't do.

Ummmm...before you go off spouting any more stupid shit, check Aiken's stats in the games that Steve Smith played and compare them to Albert Wilson's.

And in order for your logic to work they'd need identical QB's in identical systems in identical circumstances. Chiefs have the 27th ranked passing offense in the league. Their passing game is complimentary, not the focal point. I don't think their philosophy in the passing game needs to explained and being a starting WR doesn't mean you're a primary option either.
