Why do old white people love buffets so much?

I'm not sure at what point this happened, but somewhere along the way my parents became in love with Golden Corral. They retired about 5 years ago or so; and since then, they rave about it. No idea why.

I'll call to check up on them, see what's going on etc, and my Dad will say something along the lines of "Oh, we're not up to much. Just doing things around the house. ohhh, I almost forgot, we did go to Golden Corral today"

Though, I can 'sort of' understand with them since they're on a fix income ........but still.
