Chiefs Is Dwayne Bowe the most overrated Chief ever? - Page 5

I've been a fan since I can remember, which was just over 20 years ago. I know we have seen some overrated QB's here, but none of them were paid like Bowe at his position is and I can't think of another highly touted player who can't do his job in critical moments and has been thought of as quality for so long.

People also associate Bowe as the Chiefs 2nd best WR since Otis Taylor when in reality we haven't had a true #1 WR in how long?

Andy Reid's scheme is complete shit, and Smith wont throw past the first down sticks.

Yet, through all of this, Bowe never complains. He doesn't come out in the media and say what we all see, that the past two seasons of his career have been completely wasted.

When you are in this league and you KNOW you can be putting up big numbers, that has got to be frustrating. Bowe led the league in TD receptions one year for us with Cassell under center, and he cant sniff the end zone with Reid and Smith.

If any stronger indictment against Smith and Reid is needed, I don't know where you would find it.

Yes, Bowe has lapses in concentration, and he has had some ugly drops. These get magnified tenfold because he simply is not thrown to that often. He isn't getting the chances that these other receivers are getting to make up for a shitty route, or a dropped pass.

We're demanding absolute perfection from a wide receiver that clearly isn't perfect. On the what, 3-5 passes that may come his way, he's expected to grab every single one of them, no matter how low to the ground, how far behind, or how far overthrown they are, simply because 14 million.

If Smith actually put it up to Bowe as many times as Cassell did, he would still have his share of bonehead drops and miscues, but he'd also have some pretty huge plays in there as well, like that 20+ yard hurdle/run for a first down against the Cardinals.

You have to feed guys like Bowe the football. You cant just sling it his way 3-4 times and expect miracles. None of our playmakers see the ball like they should in Reids utterly horseshit, infantile league scheme.

The engine of the offense is Jamaal Charles. In the passing game it should be Bowe, and Kelce as the main targets. Plays should be designed around getting them the ball, not seeing how many people Alex Smith can complete a 3.5 yard pass to and then praise his ability to spread the ball around.

Reid sucks at putting our best players in position to make plays, and Alex Smith has some sort of debilitating fear of throwing past the first down sticks.

We're not winning anything with those two assclowns being counted on to drive the offense.

If I were Bowe, I would give back the ****ing bonus and demand my release just to escape this ****ing atrocity.

That dropped TD he had was I believe against a backup for Ike Taylor? So a 3rd stronger beating a top 5 paid WR?

What is truly sad is that we have to spend so much time trying to defend or vilify Bowe as a number one receiver!

I think he would be a number one on only a handful of teams.

We have come to accept average as good because we suck so bad.

He is so overpaid it is not funny.

Why does your coach you support not make changes in his offense with HIS HAND PICKED QB to get Blowe the ball more?

I know, I know, its Smiths fault that Reid doesn't make him adjust and throw the ball to the open WR. As long as Smith has an easy outlet he will take it, if Reid wont adjust, why should Alex?

Comes down to terrible coaching and game day planning along with dumpster fire QB play. Add those two together and you get the Chuefs.

Its taken almost two season for everyone to see that the problem is far more bigger than just Smith alone.

Once people actually turn from page 1 of the CP 101 manual "Blame the QB for everything" they actually see that there are glaring issues with Reid and his horizontal passing game.

Except there are many times in all 22 you can see a WR on the outside 1:1 and Smith won't take a chance. There are downfield opportunities that he is so afraid of taking.

Right, get the ball to the guy who drops them all the time and cant even get 2 feet in bounds. The excuses for this guy are amazing. That ball to him in the playoffs was spot on and every other #1 wr in the NFL gets 2 feet in there.

All the crying and bitching about Alex and no blame for Bowe and wr's and oline is not only funny but child like in its lack of any sense of big boy football.

What team in the NFL would take or wr or oline group? None. Yeah, half wouldn't take Alex over their qb but none would take our oline or wr's.
