Chiefs announce Bray as the backup QB
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/05/2...p-quarterback/
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a surprising declaration on Tuesday afternoon. The Chiefs are still a little more than two months away from the start of training camp in St. Joe’s, but we already have some very interesting news on the depth chart front. Reid has proclaimed that Tyler Bray, not Aaron Murray or Kevin Hogan, is entering training camp as the primary backup quarterback to Alex Smith. Murray was a fifth-round pick back in 2014 while Hogan was a fifth-round selection in April. Despite being an undrafted free agent in 2013, Bray has stuck on the roster but never appeared or been active for a game in the regular season. He was placed on injured reserve last year after sustaining a torn ACL in a pickup basketball game. Bray has all the physical tools you could want. He’s 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and at 24 years old, might finally be seizing the moment after sitting behind Chase Daniel and Murray. It will be fascinating to see if Bray can hold off Murray and Hogan in camp, not having thrown a competitive pass in two years. |

Here's what I think about the kid
I think when I went to camp, Bray had the best deep ball and deep ball accuracy of any QB I've seen at TC in 15 years of going there, including Trent Green. That ball gets there in a hurry and is always catchable. My knock on him is that he had poor pocket awareness, bad ball security, forced agressive throws and didn't seem very bright. I'm not sure if 3 full off seasons (this being his 4th) in the same system in a QB room with very, very smart guys in it with tons of experience will fix all of those issues, but the extension indicates the team thinks he has a chance to prove that he has matured since his Tennessee days. I had written him off, but I'm genuinely excited to see how far he's come with the mental part of his development because if he can get to 75% of where Hogan or Murray are in that part of the game, he will earn the top backup spot and one of the other 2 will either be traded or will be stashed on IR. This offense has a ton of deep speed, if Bray can show he has progressed as a cerebral player...he might be worth giving the #2 spot to. |

I'd like to see how far along Murray has come though the Chiefs drafting Hogan and recent news on bray isn't encouraging. Murray has smarts and better arm strength than Hogan. But his mechanics looked really messed up last preseason. Id like to think that's coachable but can't help but wonder that if Hogan develops fast and Murray doesn't develop fast enough, Murray could be on the bubble |

Oh it sure the hell isn't a compliment. They both suck monkey nuts at basic functions an NFL QB must have. Tall, big arm BUT shit foot work, and can't read a D...no chance

I wonder if they will try to stash Hogan on the PS or if they might want to showcase Bray for possible trade options.
They arent going to keep all 4. |

Bray got potential. He seems to be a lot like Nuke, million dollar arm, ten cent brain.
