The Chiefs didn't really have a choice.

Players always have control in these situations. You see hold outs and stuff every year.

Comes down to whether or not you think Peters would have been willing to sacrifice money to get a trade. Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't have, but at that point you're just playing a game of chicken.

And again, when you have a player THAT disgruntled, its best to get him away from other players. One bad apple can fracture a locker room.

This will never register with anyone until the Rams cut him and he can't get better than vet minimum or something.

Which for his sake I hope never happens. I hope he figures his shit out and is able to realize his full potential in LA.

If Kelce kneeled..he wouldnt have got the same backlash. Like it or not...race played a part.
Travis Kelce has done a bunch of dumb shit too, he got a new contract.

In my opinion, hunt and Reid could have taken a stronger public stance to help peters and show they have his back, but feared the fan backlash. I'm sure they tried things behind closed doors, but in public they left him out there to take grenades. I can understand and appreciate that's not an easy position for hunt or reid.

So all of that is better than having a "problem player" I guess, that is the big picture that keeps this team from ever winning anything.

Give that organization the benefit of the doubt, go ahead, they've really given us a reason to right? With their 50 years of incompetence and a head coach with 20 years of it, right?

Exactly. Make his ass play his final two years and earn his big pay day. Or let him pout on the sideline and lose money.

Which do you think he'll choose?

All of the supposed shit that people have been posting on here... i.e. the fight with his mother, punching holes in walls, fights with team mates... is 1) Not true, or 2) Greatly exaggerated.

True Fans want to justify this trade as the Chiefs needed to get rid of Marcus Peters because he was a supposed team cancer... it is not true/highly exagerrated

Case closed.

So are you saying that Mahomes lacked the gravitas to do that with Peters in the conversation?

That he 'needs to be' the alpha, but he also needs 'a little help' establishing himself?

I would have preferred to let him rot on the bench for the next 2 years. He would self destruct during this period then you cut his ass.

We would have been better off with the comp pick after Peters left in FA.

Yeah, but when the other AFC West fans do make fun of us, we can just point to how peaceful it looks on the sideline.

I listened to Jeff Chadhia and he said the same type of thing. I’m just wondering about this that’s all. No I’m not saying Mahomes couldn’t do it if Peters was here but Peters also listens to no one but himself. This is just something else I fought about and hen listened to that podcast and he said the same thing.
