Wilkerson To Visit Chiefs

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/...iefs-scheduled

The Kansas City Chiefs apparently have some interest in free agent DT Muhammad Wilkerson. According to Calvin Watkins of Newsday, the Chiefs are on Wilkerson’s free agent visit.

Wilkerson, one of the top defensive linemen available, visited the Packers this week then it’s the Saints and then the Chiefs ... if he makes it to Kansas City and another team doesn’t sign him first.

The Jets cut him last week two years into a five-year, $86 million contract so something was going on there. Wilkerson was reported to have shown up late to meetings with the Jets so he’ll have to show free agent teams how dedicated he is. Or he’ll just have to be so good teams put up with showing up late.

The connection to the Chiefs is Bob Sutton, who was in New York for a couple years with Wilkerson.

Gonna have to take some chances somewhere

I'd say take the gamble that we get the 2016-17 version and not the unmotivated version. Give hime some reasonable floor money and then put in some incentives to bring his pay up to the top 5 pay if we get the 2016-17 version?

Not publicly, but Mehta claims he's been hinting at it for a couple years and that it's well known around the league.

Wilkerson's mom claims Mehta just has an axe to grind.
