As soon as that happened, his favorite character he went to see had a massive Snyder shit taken on it. He wasn't there for it and left. There were many fans of Big Blue that took issue with this decision.

People walked out of Iron Man 3 when they shit on The Mandarin, especially after Ben Kingsley was doing a great job with it. Turning the Mandarin into a joke character played by a bumbling actor robbed Iron Man fans of a cinematic battle between Iron Man and The Mandarin.

I walked out of Spider Man 3 when they revealed that Sandman killed Pete's uncle, effectively shitting on With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. Hey Pete, even If you had stopped that guy when you had the chance, your uncle would still be dead, and you've become Spider Man out of guilt for nothing.

Its a pretty simple concept really, but given your inability to keep up with the conversation, it doesn't surprise me that you don't understand it.

They took a more grounded approach in this universe because that’s Nolan’s style. They did a good enough job with it too. Hardy bulked up for the role and despite being like 5’8” in real life, they did a great job with the camera angles to make it seem like he was a massive hulk.

You wanted a CGI roid freak with veins popping in every muscle instead.

The worst part about the whole thing was how difficult it was to understand him at points. That didn’t stop people from loving how dangerous he was and the iconic quotes. Thematically, he was a good villain choice too. They went from villains to challenge his ideology to one who could challenge him physically. I thought that was a nice shift.

Concerning Superman, idk what to tell you. You strike me as a dipshit purist who isn’t even familiar with source material. If you’ve actually read comics, you’d know they change shit up all the time. Superman was created in the 30s. You really want 90 years of retelling the same exact story in comic, movie, cartoon, TV show and video game format? That would be dumb af. Yeah, every once in a while have Superman kill snap and kill someone (ala Injustice or Man of Steel). Funny thing about your complaint in Man of Steel is that Superman literally had no other choice. Either he breaks Zod’s neck there or he watches as his heat vision obliterates a family of four. Great book that got turned into the Brad Pitt film based on the book and the Oakland A's 2002 season. Nary a mention about how good the A's were heading into the season with their incredible pitching staff, Miguel Tejada, Eric Chavez and others... Nope, just all about losing Damon and Giambi and how the team was broke and there's no way they could ever compete again. All hogwash. Does it make it a bad film? Nope. It's a great film, even if it does shift reality and twists the book's meaning around.

If you think "Rises" is a bad film because it doesn't do Bane justice to the comic, you're an imbecile.

And these are all fictional characters, by the way... I think it's actually more egregious in the Moneyball instance of shifting reality to make it a more "Hollywood" underdog story.

I also like this scene because you can see how conflicted Superman is. The only thing, and I mean only thing I didn't like about MoS was the plot hole of Superman and Zod destroying an entire city fighting each other. Superman would go out of his way to bring the fight elsewhere or at least try. But Zach Snyder wanted some cool CGI.

The deeper problem is the direction taken to start with.

Instead of banishing Zod to the phantom zone (and leaving the door open for Michael Shannon to return and do another great job), the decision is made that Superman is going to KILL Zod.

The innocent family is there to make the small minded believe he "had no choice" lmao, when the real issue is with the writing of the character itself.

If you're trying to tell me that Superman, who held off Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg so effortlessly that he was also able to easily track The Flash's super speed, was entirely unable to do ANY other maneuver in the world and the ONLY thing that this godlike being could do was wrench Zods neck, then you're a fool.

The fact is that the story Nolan wanted to tell, nobody would have given a shit about it if they didn't shoehorn Bane into it. What, our foil is going to be an excommunicated member of the league of Shadows, and they want to make another attempt on Gotham. Sounds kinda boring Chris, we kinda did that in Batman Begins.

We will make this interesting, by telling our story using Bane's name. Fans of Bane and The Breaking of The Bat story will flock to cinemas to see this.

Bane isn't, and was never in the League of Shadows. Fans of Bane know this.
