Eric Berry to stay in college?

http://www.gbnreport.com/

(10:00 AM) Top safety staying???? … All season long Tennessee junior safety has been considered to be one of the top 2-3 prospects overall for the 2010 draft. However, there are some signs that Berry may ultimately decide to return to school for his senior year next fall. Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin, for example, is being quoted as saying Berry has a surprise for fans on Saturday when the Vols face Kentucky in their final regular season game. At the same time, Berry did not participate in the team’s traditional last tackle drill on Thursday morning in which each senior tackles a blocking pad dressed in Kentucky gear.

That would suck I am not sure who i would want then. I guess it depends on how high the pick is. If we somehow win a few more games we might be in the 8-10 range and it would really open up the selection of players. Just hopefully not Terrence cody

Last tackle tradition is for seniors.

I bet he's still coming out -- but will be off the board before the Chiefs pick.

Well then perhaps it's time once again to bring out Pyrrhus, God of True Fans to secure the position necessary to claim him.

Either that, or we atone for last year's nonsense and trade up to get him.

You're insane. Berry can always go back to school to finish his degree. However he may not be able to go to the NFL if something happens to him in his Sr. year of college ball. Like if god forbid Berry ends up having some kind of terrible career threatening injury that would suck more. Sure he'd be able to get the degree since he went back but his chance of millions in the NFL would be over. If he goes to the NFL he could go back and finish his degree at a later point. Whenever he chooses. I think it would be an unsmart move to go back to school as high of a pick as he's projected to be. I thought the same thing for Bradford when he made his decision. Look what happened to him. There's just too many what ifs on what could happen. Why jeproadize losing out on that kind of money. He wouldn't even have to be injured either.
He could just have a complete shit year or something and his draft stock could fall. There's just too many different negative scenarios that could happen to him if he returns for his senior year.

Berry is a guy who has his head on his shoulders correctly unlike some young athletes that come into the NFL these days. Berry will make the best choice for himself, but I just hate to get into these topics when Berry hasn't even announced that he will be going pro yet. I hope he does, but I am not going to get my hopes up and then have to wait another year and then not have a shot at him at all.
Yeah.... Kind of what I said.....
