And I'm not saying you're doing this, but don't ask for ideas to be showy and so everybody will think you're doing something, and then shoot them all down as "not my kind of thing". Give stuff a shot first. Maybe some of it works, maybe some of it doesn't. But the big thing is that you really have to want to do something. (Which is traditionally my problem - as well as maintaining that level of interest after a few weeks - I'm good at getting gung-ho for a while and then just stopping) |

At this point, I'm pretty much angry with myself. I spent $500 on that V-Diet crap. While it worked, fasting has been FAR easier, FREE, and I'm guessing when I step on that scale Sunday, the results will be about the same.
But most of all, even after only 12 days, I feel confident enough to say that I've found my holy grail. I never really believed I would see abs unless I started doing something insane like running 5 miles every day. Now I'm fully confident fasting will lead me to TRUE FREEDOM! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Eggs (whites if you want to be healty) are good for protein, too, although not quite in chicken's ballpark. And cottage cheese, if you can get past the whole snot-n-bugger consistency. Yogurt too, although only about half as much as cottage cheese as I recall. I believe pork is pretty high in protein as well - I keep buying it for some variety and then don't eat it, unfortunately. And then fish. There's some fairly high protein foods out there.

I did the first 90 days & I had great results. I play racquetball like it's my job & the plyo workout made me a lot faster. I definitely got stronger, too. I'll confess that I sometimes sub racquetball or a run for the Kenpo cardio workout, but overall, I feel like it's a very solid workout. I'm currently doing a 2nd round, but I'm adding some bench press to the chest workouts. |

Pretty good day. My BMR is somewhere around 2300. After dinner I was very full. I may have a low calorie (100-200) before bed but in my opinion that is one hell of a good day. If anyone is interested I use www.sparkpeople.com to track my calories. |

Here's the deal: It makes you strong in a certain range. You get really good at doing pushups and pullups. That's strength endurance and not so much pure strength. That's not for me, but it's great if you don't have any specific goals, and just want to be leaner and not sit on the couch all day.
I really don't want to argue about this, as I've expressed my thoughts on it a lot before. For me, it's useless. None of those workouts are close to being as challenging as what I do right now, nor would they benefit my goals at all on a day-to-day basis. Would I use them if I were on vacation or something and had no alternative? Sure. But it's hardly something to base a program around for me. If it works for you... awesome. I applaud you. |

What type of program are you on? I'll be looking for something new once I'm done with my 2nd round. I am planning to use some of the routines in the Men's Health Big Book of Workouts. |

By when? by the end of the summer for sure but faster then that really. 6 weeks! When I was 18 I weighed 168 but I carry alot more muscle now then I did then. But yeah I realize that at 199 I'm still probably fat. I have a slow metabolism by my estimation. I don't know if it's related by my heart rate is mid to low 60s. Sometimes upper 50s if I concentrate.(Is that possible to control?) Right now getting to 199 would beawsome though. If I get it done i'm sure my instinct will make me want to weigh 189 as my next goal. I don't mind being a little on the big side. 199 is probably a good fighting weight for me. 199 in 6 weeks. Silock, what ever should I do? And yes I have been doing a plank or two per your advice. PhilFree

Metabolism:
http://johnbarban.com/danger-metabolism-slowing-ahead/ You're going to have to drastically lower your calorie intake. Average 1400 calories per day for 6 weeks and you'll probably get close, but you'll have to up the exercise, too. |
