It really sucks that we didn't hire that coach out there that didn't have one single thing to criticize or nit-pick about. You know who I'm talking about--that one guy.

Reid is a proven winner, with an aggressive offensive style. That's tough to complain about.

You think I'm complaining about him, I'm not. I was simply posting how stupid Eagles fans are. JFC people. Stay calm

I'd agree only partially with the Pride/Hubris sin over the entire 14 year body of work. The rest are not true.

What a bizarre article. There's plenty of things to criticize Reid for. This guy listed 7 and almost none of them are right.

I am an Eagles season ticket holder and I wanted to teach you a little bit about Andy Reid and what to expect from him.
1) He is smarter than everyone else. Yes, he believes this. One of the many examples is when he made our OL coach (who was a pretty damn good one) into our new Def. coordinator...he also did this during the lockout with no time to practice. He thinks "his way" is the only way. 2) He's stone cold to the media & fans. Gives you nothing during his press conferences but the same old one-liners....I hope you keep my post and come back to it because you will hear these one-liners a lot this year (and we had to put up w/this for 14)...some of them are: "Times yours" -- he says this to the media at the beginning of a press conference after he sites the injury report -- "I gotta do a better job" "Gotta put my players in a position to succeed" "We're fine there" "It all starts with me" and many more... 3) His time management is horrendous. Early timeouts on a weekly basis. One of the biggest reasons we lost the Super Bowl in 2004...no timeouts. 4) He's a good weekly game-planner but a terrible in-game adjuster. Just can't adjust and is very stubborn when it comes to running the football (See #1) 5) Drafting is all that good. Look closely at all of Andy Reid's drafts since 98. See many Pro Bowlers in there? McNabb? Westbrook? McCoy? Other than that, who else is there? That's just some of the things you will find out about Andy Reid. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the guy as a person...and I bet you are thinking "You've had it good for the last 14 years..nine playoff appearances, etc" but let me ask you this: How many Super Bowls have we won in those years? As many as Kansas City. Eagles and Chiefs fans are some of the smartest and dedicated fanbases in the NFL. We both want to win and love our teams through thick and thin. I hope Andy can turn your team around and I think he will...but I know you guys wouldn't be content with 8-8 every year. |

Cheesesteak: Wit or witout? Let these guys enjoy the ride for a season or two - anything is better than 2-14. Andy can be all those things, sure, but nobody is perfect and perhaps in a new setting where he isn't fighting behind the scenes with his GMs for control he can get the job done. I blame McNabb for the SB clock management as much as Reid. Lolligagging down the field when you're down 10 with six minutes to play with no urgency is unacceptable. Moreover, McNabb threw up on Jacksonville's field three times if memory serves: Once during his Syracuse bowl game appearance, once in the Super Bowl, and once in a later regular season game. I blame the QB for not being a winner. T.O. was right about him.

I know you're just passing along what you found, but there were lots of people here against Reid, as if the perfect, flawless candidate was out there. I think the complaints are more directed as those people.

That was why TO called him a choker...he was speaking literally. McNabb showed up to camp one year a few pounds heavy and after he got married (not sayin, just sayin) he always seemed to struggle with the last ten pounds. T.O. was a talented boy and we all loved him from the first preseason snap in 2004. Cheesesteak remembers if he didn't sell his overpriced exhibition ticket. Eighty yard go route to start his Eagle career. He was a big time mental case diva though and effectively was the beginning of the long end for Reid. He and Jevon Kearse were his first "supplemental" FAs to help the Eagles over the top. Until that point the players were mostly homegrown.
