Bullshit. DeBerg was gritty as Hell and played through injuries. Smith is an injury waiting to happen. Short of still drafting Geno this move is abyssmal.

Green was good for a few years, and it got us a 13-3, divisional round exit again, so if you liked that era, that move could be defined as "benefited the team", especially since the guy the Lambs took with that pick became a bust I believe. Still, we didn't win any playoff games and had a horrid defense, so I wasn't a fan of that regime... |

Alex smith has played what......75 games? has three 300 yard games....., only cracked 200 YPG two seasons and (take note of this)....his 'good' seasons were NOT the season he broke 200 ypg.....Everyone points to 2012 and 2011.......but honestly, he was just pulling a '10 Cassel....175 ypg , dink/dunk/garbage yards. Yes, Brees did explode when he went to NO, but he had a bomb & timer...... I see no explosion happening with Alex Smith... Comparing the two is ridiculous IMO (so I am agreing with Hamas' original point)

Once Rex Grossman made the SB, it made me a believer that ANY QB can make it.

You want the Cardinals baseball analogy for Alex Smith. Its Kyle Lohse. It would be like say the Royals traded Wil Myers for Kyle Lohse to be their ace.

I can see Smith taking on a Trent Green role, accurate and quick short-medium passer, excellent in play action, and decent game awareness. The problem for the Chiefs was they they did nothing to develop a long-term QB solution during the Trent Green era.

The ****ed up thing about all of this is we still have no idea what we have in Stanzi. 2-14 season, with the worse of the worst quarterback play and we can't even get a second year player in to evaluate him.
