In short: The Don and Mike sydicated radio show was scheduled to have it's semi-regular "absinthe show" today. I was primed to listen to it as I killed the last of my bottle of Czech absinthe...good times all around, yeah?





But nooooooooo.....

....it's not to be.

My local radio asshole station that carries D&M has chosen instead to carry coverage of the shit-licking March Madness basketball coverage instead of Don & Mike...So! I cannot hear the absinthe show due to this professional gambler's dream.

Yeah, it's illegal to sell absinthe in the USA. It's not illegal to possess and it's a kind of grey area about importing it. I emailed the ATF about this and the reply I got stated that, basically, they don't go after people for ordering small amounts of absinthe for personal use. It's probably not a good idea to try to bring in 55-gallon drums of the stuff, though...

I read the 1st paragraph of his bio and this sentence made me laugh out loud!

"He died of alcoholism in 1900 at the early age of 33."

I have to ask you what is the appeal of that show? It comes on midnight here in Dallas and I've tried listening to it on my way home from work and I just do not get it. Don and Mike seem to prattle on and on about their personal lives and are just not funny and entertaining to me. Is the show some kind of acquired taste? I'm usually exhausted coming home from work and these guys increase my chance at falling asleep at the wheel.
