Dyson gonna start needing more playing time in RF at this point. Like, against all righties

If Rios is going to hit .225, is there a reason at all he should play over Dyson? no

Agreed.

Said at the beginning of the year that as long as one of Morales/Rios hit, even if the other one was not good, you could at least platoon Dyson and get defense/speed value from Dyson.

We have reached that point. Rios clearly isn't getting it done, and I think he's had more than enough time to recover from the hand injury at this point.

ALSO:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Rays taking Andriese out and bringing in a soft-tossing lefty to pitch to Eric Hosmer.

He's 1/6th the defender and 1/3 the base runner. Also, Dyson has good 3 year splits against righties and is very underrated and a very high WAR player. Plus, he's a clubhouse favorite. I'm tired of Rios

Everyone who bitches about Yost's bullpen management needs to remember that the Rays just pulled their starter after 79 pitches in which he carved us up.

Yeah, was glad to see Andriese out of there, and clearly the Royals were, too.

That was an example of "Don't let them pitch a 3rd time through the lineup" backfiring, badly.

With what Rios makes, I just doubt he's completely benched. No reason not to platoon them at this point though. And if Rios continues to stink, you could full bench him shortly thereafter if Dyson performs slightly better.

He was more open. And yes. And he killed the Royals so many times. Plus he nearly decapitated Fred Lynn in Left center on a ball the Brett hit where Lynn crashed into the wall narrowly missing Downing and making one of the best catches I've ver seen on TV.

His size and style of play. He's so little, and he's really only effective when he's playing balls to the wall, so he can't really pace himself. If he's not giving max effort, he really brings nothing to the table, and I don't think his body type will allow him to do that 5 times a week.

I really like John Jaso. I think he's a free agent after this season... but he would be a great No. 2 catcher for this Royals team. He definitely is an offensive minded guy, but his patience and power combo makes him Jorge Kottaras heavy.

He's also good enough with the stick to find him ABs at DH when he isn't catching (though the Royals are set at DH next year with Morales).
