Andy Reid and his thoughts
Reid was on 610 sports earlier on today and this is what he had to say.

"I enjoy doing it, so right now I'm not in the frame of mind to do that." - #Chiefs Andy Reid on whether he'd hand over play-calling.

And even though Marty and the DC had to cover his flaws, there was no one better in backside pursuit in the run game.

I have often said that Gunther did more to contain DT than any OC.

I dont find it a crime, or in any way impugning Thomas or my Chiefs fandom to say... Houston > Thomas, atleast so far.

There are some longevity issues at play here, but otherwise I'll hold to that take... if Houston stays here and continues on this arc, he'll be #1 all time in Arrowhead.

Don't know the exact numbers, but Bobby Bell is believed to have 80 or more sacks for his career, in spite of the fact that he rushed the QB maybe around 25% of the snaps that Houston does.

He had 35 or 36 interceptions, and was an absolute beast against the run.

Houston has a long way to go before he matches Bell's overall productivity, and I just don't think he gets there.

Bell was an amazing player. We talked about him before here on the CP, but it's worth repeating. He was a QB in high school, wore high tops because he had bad ankles. He played on special teams his entire career as the deep snapper for Stenerud and Wilson. He returned an onside kick for a TD against Denver. He was the first pure outside linebacker elected to the Pro Football HOF. That last accolade speaks volumes. His number has been retired. No other Chiefs will ever wear #78.

I'm not arguing with you because I agree. Debating on which Chief was the best LB is ****ing reeruned. We don't have much to celebrate as chiefs fans. We won a superbowl almost 45 years ago. We haven't won a playoff game in over 20 years.

We should be celebrating all of our stud LB's. Derrick Thomas is my favorite. 90% of that has to do with the fact I grew up in the 90's. It's ok for us to have differences in opinions on this subject, but some of the ass clowns on here bashing our HOF players just to prove that their opinion is the "right opinion" , is just ****ing reeruned.

Houston isn't a a Hall of Famer yet. Not even close. He's got a long way to go before I even start to compare him to guys like DT and Bell. Longevity is a big part of what makes a player great.

Bell was simply before my day, theres just no reference point there for me to compare to... different eras, different players and all that jazz.
