Some Things About Today's Game Week 11: KC 19 Cowboys Number 9....Number 9...Number 9

Some Things About Today’s Game Week 11: KC 19 Cowboys 9

Mrs B and I have both been under the weather. I went to the Green Bay Game then missed almost a whole week of work with Bronchitis. Mrs B has the same thing and is just now getting to where she’s not barking like a circus seal. So I sold my seats for a fistful of Benjamins, and hickory smoked some ribs on my bullet smoker. I’m so glad we had a nice day, so that weather wasn’t an issue for the game.

All week long I’ve had to listen to all the national pundits diss the Chiefs -especially the defense-, so I’d just like to say -and I mean this with all sincerity- FU Michael Irvin. FU NFL Network. FU Terry Bradshaw. FU Jimmy Johnson, and especially a Giganatic FU to Troy Aikman and Joe Buck. Buck’s nose still smells like Madison Bumgarner’s rectal cavity, and I loathe when he darkens our door at either stadium. I’d like to invite all of these nattering neybobs of negativity to have enthusiastic sex with the Preston Road Trophy.

I listened to Mitch and the Chiefs broadcast, so I only caught bits and pieces of Aikman following the Fox broadcast. Cowboys didn’t have Cooper. Waaaaah. His own fault for not getting a vaccination. Lamb concussed in the first half. Waaaaah. He got hit upside the head. Dallas laid a cheap shot on Mahomes’ helmet when he was already down, and it was ignored by the refs. Dak was overthrowing guys. Waaaaah. Maybe the pass rush had something to do with that? Wilson dropped a couple open passes. Maybe our secondary had something to do with that? Waaaah. Again, FU Aikman. Aikman was like “Geez, how is that NOT pass interference?” Like the refs didn’t give Dallas any help. CEH gets an unsportsmanlike penalty for simply pointing at the Cowboys Defense. Trey Smith gets 30 yards in penalties on one play. Fenton gets his frickin’ helmet ripped off on the Dallas Sideline and gets and Unsportsmanlike penalty for simply pointing at his face and saying “HEY..those guys RIPPED MY HELMET OFF!” The national NFL guys had to at least make the field refs call the face mask penalty to even out that situation. Since FOX is the NFC network, it doesn’t surprise me that they were so pro-Dallas on the broadcast.

Both teams ended up being penalized six times, but most of Dallas penalties were self inflicted, like false starts. Most of KC penalties were ref inflicted for BS unsportsmanlike conduct or taunting.

Our losses thus far are to all AFC teams. We have beaten every NFC opponent we have faced. Andy knows a thing or two about preparing for NFC teams.

Neither QB had what you would call a stellar day. Dak was worse than Mahomes. He was sacked five times. Threw two costly picks; one at the end of each half. The Dallas offense came in #1 in the NFL, averaging over 30 points per game. They’ve had at least 2 TDs in every game up to today. Today, just three field goals. Dak averaged 7.5 yards per completion. He sucked today, because the Chiefs defense made him suck today. Dallas was 5 for 15 on third down attempts.

Mahomes threw for 260. His one pick bounced off Kelce -a ball he usually pulls in. He also got strip sacked and lost one fumble. Micah Parsons is a beast and beat Wiley and Brown bad a couple times. Diggs didn’t do anything game changing. Chiefs rushed for 126 and 2 TDs. So it was the rushing game that made the difference. Pringle also shined on both offense and special teams.

Specials overall had a winning effort. Bad Buttkicker: missing a PAT and missing a 51 yard field goal. Good Buttkicker: Hitting a 48 yard PAT after penalties, hitting a 53 yard field goal and doing a fourth quarter pooch punt to pin Dallas on the two yard line. Well done. Very well done.

All the game balls to the defense. Honey Badger played with a bad swollen knee. Frank Clark came out strong and was actually effective in the pass rush. Chris Jones with 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a tipped pass that led to the final game sealing pick was game changing. That’s the Chris Jones we’ve been waiting on all year long. Glad he finally showed up and showed everyone who and what he is. Melvin Ingram played more, and makes everybody around him step up their game. Reed is playing better and helping stuff the run.

Linebackers Gay and Bolton both played well. Sorensen and Alfred E. Neimann did not do anything to hurt the team. Our defensive secondary was terrific. Sure, they didn’t have to face Dallas one and two wide outs, but you play against whoever they throw out there. Sneed should be an all-pro selection. Ward is playing better coming back from injury. Fenton played well, and hopefully his knee injury won’t cost him a lot of games. The bye will hopefully help him heal. Spags did a great job bringing the defense back from the dead. Up to this week KC's Defense was giving up over six yard per play. Today they gave up a little over four yards per play to the number one offense in the NFL. Well done and sorely needed.

OK, so the Bills lose. The Faid loses. The Tits lose to the lowly Houston Texans. Ravens barely squeak by Da Bearsss. And at the time of this writing the Bolts are barely winning over Pittsburgh. It will be nice to have a Thanksgiving bye, then come back to work with the bumps and bruises healed and preparing for the final stretch run against the rest of the AFC West.

Big important win today. Style points don’t matter and we never EVER apologize for winning. I hope you all have a safe and tasty Thanksgiving. Mr. Doggity is smoking a giant turkey for me that they gave me at work. So I plan to enjoy watching Thanksgiving Day football and going into a turkey coma. All the best to you and yours from Mrs. B, the Blowfish kitties and yours truly.

It was Aikman's BD? Sweet! I shudder to think what Joe Buck tried to give him for a present.

Aikman was biased for sure. The Dallas sideline was up in arms on what they thought was a missed intentional grounding call on Mahomes. They showed a couple of angles and Aikman was discussing it and how heated McCarthy was as he screamed at the refs.

The very next play is where Mahomes ran for a first down, diving to the ground with the ball outstretched. He was on the ground for what seemed like two or three seconds before a Dallas defender comes in late and makes helmet-to-helmet contact with Mahomes on the ground.

How does Aikman respond? He immediately goes back to the "missed" intentional grounding call. Never mind that it was clearly a late hit on Mahomes. Never mind that it was clearly a helmet-to-helmet hit on our QB. Nope, what America really needed to turn its attention to was the previous play that may or may not have been intentional grounding.

Dude shouldn't be broadcasting Dallas games if he can't be objective.

I think that was actually Buck who said that. Aikman, of course, jumped on board with that opinion after praising all the "great no-calls" on late hits and PI by Dallas.

Great to see the Defense bail out he offense all day. Felt like the 90's all over again. When this offense gets its shit together...ooof...looking forward to part 2 of this season.

Happy Thanksgiving, glad y'all are feeling better.

From the Cowboy camp on Cooper:

Cowboys' Dak Prescott confirms COVID vaccination status, will not vilify Amari Cooper after positive test

By Patrik Walker

Amari Cooper was missed on Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys took the field against the Kansas City Chiefs. Dak Prescott and the offense as a whole was completely discombobulated the entire game, failing to execute time after time and undercutting a great defensive effort that included key takeaways at critical moments. Prescott won't have much time to figure things out, though, considering it's a short week before facing the Las Vegas Raiders at AT&T Stadium in what will be the second game missed by Cooper -- who tested positive for COVID-19 last weekend and must be quarantined for 10 days before returning.

That mandate is due to Cooper being unvaccinated, and one of less than a handful of Cowboys who are. But when asked if he wished the four-time Pro Bowler and definitive WR1 in Dallas was available, Prescott gave a very obvious nod in the affirmative. What he won't do, however, is criticize Cooper for choosing to remain unvaccinated, also going on to confirm CBS Sports' reporting that he himself is, in fact, vaccinated.

"I mean, it's unfortunate not having him," Prescott told media after the loss in Kansas City, one that saw him throw two interceptions with no touchdowns. "To say the decision he made, I mean I'm vaccinated and I could get it and be out two games. Let's try not to knock the guy or put the guy down for a personal decision. I don't think there's anybody that comes back under 10 days.

"You give me that stat on guys that are either vaccinated or unvaccinated coming back faster than that time and tested out, then OK, we'll go from there. That's my teammate, that's my brother, we're going to support him. That's his decision, as I said way back in training camp when you guys asked me this question. Unfortunate we don't have him, but I know he'll come back and be beneficial for us late in the season."

When asked to compare the situation to that of Aaron Rodgers, who admittedly misled everyone with his intentional use of the word "immunized" instead of "vaccinated", Prescott made it clear he never opined about Rodgers' situation with the Green Bay Packers, and he's going to give the same respect (and more) to a player he views as family.

"I never said Aaron was selfish so I don't get where you're coming at with me -- asking me that question," said Prescott. "That's my teammate, that's my brother, as I said. I'll continue to back him and support him. This is everybody's personal decision and I'm leaving it there."

Cooper will be available to return to the facility on Monday, Nov. 29, to ready for a short week, when the Cowboys prepare themselves to visit the Saints in New Orleans on Thursday night. They didn't learn about Cooper's status until last Friday, as they began shifting from practice to packing up to head to Kansas City, which certainly put the team behind the eight ball, offensively, seeing as Dallas has specific packages and plays designed for Cooper that were instantly either deleted or adapted for others. Those others included Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Noah Brown, who both had a case of the dropsies on Sunday.

For the sake of the Cowboys' chances of bouncing back this week, Wilson and Brown can't afford a repeat performance, and especially with the likelihood of also being without CeeDee Lamb, who suffered a concussion on Sunday.
