No, he's being punished for pushing a fan. And there was no precedent for that in college basketball, as far as I know. Why is the 3 games a surprise there? Why does it mean anything with regard to this?

Except I could just as easily say that the fan came up with a bullshit excuse (piece of crap? That's seriously what he texted after the game saying he felt bad about going too far after getting shoved? ) to cover up his own racist comment and it would ring just as true right now. That's because there's no evidence either way.

But it's good to know you've got it all figured out, though. Your own personal agenda was exposed on your first post when you accused Smart of this very same thing without knowing any of the facts about the situation.

I don't justify it, I just understand the inclination to give this guy what he probably deserved. To me, it's really the asshole with a history of taunting college athletes (and the ridiculous fan culture that allows such things to go on) that people should take issue with in this story.
