Chiefs Have #1 Scoring Defense (#2 All Points Allowed)

They’re actually number one if you remove the pick-6 from the Lions game.

Why would the pick 6 be included? That wasn’t on the D.

I agree which is why I made that distinction — but the official stat line includes all opponent scoring so I included it.

But it looks better and is more accurate to say we’re the number one scoring defense so I updated it.

Lol, so now DEN, CHI and NYJ are good NFL offenses?

They're shit.

Everyone, except for you I guess, knows they're shit offenses.

And did I say that any of them were dead last? No, I said they were some of the worst offenses, not THE worst. Learn to read, hun.

And you mention the quality of the opponent when it's significant, as it is in this case. It' not like DEN/CHI/NYJ offenses will ever be compared to PHI/MIA/ SF offenses in 2023. They are in fact on the opposite ends of the spectrum, by every professional analyst's opinion. Not some couch potato dipstick on CP.

Holding DEN to 8 points isn't in the same universe as holding PHI to 8 points.

If KC held PHI or SF to 20 points, I'd find that a much more impressive accomplishment than holding DEN to 8 points. And so would anyone else with any football IQ.

Get a clue.
Just to be clear: The #11 offense in the NFL is "shit?" While the Donx aren't very good, they were top 10 prior to our game. Maybe they are shit, but we still held them to 8. I doubt you're going to try to claim that Detroit's offense is shit or even Minnesota for that matter.

If they're some of the worst, how many is in that "bottom" category? 22?

They've started extremely strong, and getting what we hope is a big piece in Omenihu back, they could get stronger.

Pretty happy with what we've got on defense, and once the offense gels, what a nightmare KC will be in the playoffs.
He has a secondary.

Except to make our defense sound better, which is kind of dumb.

We know our defense is playing well right now, I don't see why we have to try and exaggerate the offenses of two shitty teams.

And we also have seen how these 'rankings' can be utter BS, thanks to lack of context such as the quality of the opponents. The most obvious example for Chiefs fans being the 2018 KC defense, but also the numerous other defenses (some of which KC has crushed over the last 5 years) that were incorrectly 'ranked' as a 'number 1 defense,' or 'the number 3 defense,' whatever.

So my point seems rather simple. I think it's wiser to judge them dispassionately, accept that they haven't played against enough good to great offenses to know for certain that they're a top-2 defense, that's all. I prefer to err on the side of caution, after just 6 games.

But I have acknowledged that they're playing at a very high level, that they might even be a top-5 defense, so I honestly don't see why this is a problem for any intelligent fan.

Btw, the Chiefs defense DVOA ranking last week was 11th.
BTW, the Chiefs defense DVOA ranking last 3 years is in the 20's...

Yes. Not sure what you're point is? The defense has shown a lot of improvement?
