Andy Dalton was the QB who beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Kaepernick's last Nevada team was very good though, they were ranked most of the season. He passed for 3000/rushed for 1000.

But to be fair, if people knew how good Kaepernick was going to be... he wouldn't have went where he did. He did fall into a good place in SF though... he's surrounded by a ton of talent and they allowed him to run an offense he's used to. Sitting for a year may have helped him.
