Man, NY Yankees are going to be STACKED next year. Think if they get Man Ram too.

What is their rotation going to be?

CC Sabathia
AJ Burnett
Chien Ming-Wang
Joba Chamberlain
and won't they still have Andy Pettite?

Pettitte is currently a FA.

I never thought Tex would go to the Red Sox, he had problems with that organization at the beginning of his career and now he is joining their rival it makes sense. The Yanks just did this to make sure he didn't go to the Sox. They have cleared Giambi, Abreu, Moose, Petitte, Pudge, and Pavano. They had a lot of extra cash to spend. At the end of the off-season they will have ended up spending just a little more for this year than they did last year. I just have no idea why they traded for Swisher if they were planning on making a run for Tex.

um ..... ya

so that makes the screwed up competitive balance of baseball a figment of everyones imagination?!?!

small market teams have to work twice as hard and be twice as smart, compared to the big markets, to just not get run off the field.

Sometimes I think they should add a third team in NYC. I know it will never happen, but the luxury tax does nothing to curb the Yanks or Mets spending. Put a third team in there and at least take some market share, however little it would be.
The Yankees are sickening. They have the whole NYC, NJ (millions), Long Island (millions), the counties upstate, Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany and even quite a bit of PA as media markets, not to mention nationwide bandwagon Yankee fans that watch on YES. I lived in Williamsport, PA for 3 years and saw more Yankee hats than Philly or Pirate hats.
I hate the Yankees. I hate bandwagon Yankee fans even more.

Yea, pretty much.

I mentioned it in an earlier post that spending money is no guarantee of anything.

The Yankees have had all star teams for years but havent won a Title since 2000.
