I'm pretty sure that the day the lockout was lifted anyone could have gotten playbooks. It would have been pretty stupid of a team to give the books to some, but not all players.

Throwing a rookie that is not ready to the wolves isn't in the best interest of the team or the development of the rookie.

I think Haley and Zorn think a lot of Stanzi and want to bring him along in the way that will best develop his skills for the future. According to Haley they don't believe he is ready yet. I agree with them. He may end up starting yet this season out of necessity, but starting him before he is ready can hinder his development.

This statement has been proven to be untrue more often than not in recent NFL history.

I think this would be the perfect scenario for Stanzis first start.

Oh well, good things come to those who wait, I guess.

A dumbshit thing to say considering you've came up with every excuse for Pioli and Haley it would only make sense for you to make up shit about an average college QB who happened to play for Iowa.

I hope you continue to say things against Stanzi.

Sorry to say it, but in most cases you are very CoMoesque.

That's the thing: Had Stanzi played for say, Oregon State, does anyone here think Boss and Arturis would be pimping him like this?

He'd be just another 5th round pick.

duh

If Gabbert played for Iowa and Iowa was a spread team, you would have been laughing at Jacksonville taking Gabbert top 10.

See how that goes both ways?

Of course I talk about Stanzi a lot. I have watched most of his games at Iowa and know a lot about him on and off the field. If he played elsewhere, I wouldnt know as much about him and would be quiet when these debates go on.

Like I am in the case of most quarterback discussions, I try to only talk about what I know.

Well I obviously wouldn't have seen three years of play from the guy if he had played at Oregon State would I?

This is what we've become. We're debating the merits of a fifth round rookie, who is a statue in the pocket that will get destroyed behind this o-line, being our savior at QB going forward. This guy is the next Pat Barnes, but this fanbase is so hungry for a real quarterback that we will polish up any turd that comes down the pipe.

The only way to know for sure is when he finally gets on the field, and I have no reason to believe he's not going to be Croyle part deux, minus the brittle part (hopefully).
