As to his footwork, that may very well be so. The kid really never had a dedicated QB coach and his OC was RRPP.

Zorn should be able to help Stanzi a lot on some of those things.

The instincts are there to avoid pressure and make a play, though.

I hope you continue to say things against Stanzi.

Sorry to say it, but in most cases you are very CoMoesque.

He seems like he has the "it" factor.

Or maybe I am just desperate to see a real QB suit up for the Red & Gold.

That's the thing: Had Stanzi played for say, Oregon State, does anyone here think Boss and Arturis would be pimping him like this?

He'd be just another 5th round pick.

This, I think, is true for many of us.

I saw some things from Stanzi in the preseason I liked.

I am, however, not ready to proclaim him the next coming.

But I will say that what I saw in the preseason showed me he was miles ahead of Cassel as a potential NFL QB.

But then, so is Sage Rosenfels.

duh

If Gabbert played for Iowa and Iowa was a spread team, you would have been laughing at Jacksonville taking Gabbert top 10.

See how that goes both ways?

Of course I talk about Stanzi a lot. I have watched most of his games at Iowa and know a lot about him on and off the field. If he played elsewhere, I wouldnt know as much about him and would be quiet when these debates go on.

Like I am in the case of most quarterback discussions, I try to only talk about what I know.

WTF would I be butthurt about?

Our longstanding debate about Brandon Carr? Mike Brown? Derrick Johnson? Belcher? Aubrayo Franklin? Casey Weigmann?

Shit, come to think about it I cant remember a single debate about a player or anything football related you have gotten the better of me on.

Maybe Pollard, but he is still a starting safety in the league....even for a good defense in Baltimore.

Im seriously trying to remember one single instance, but I simply cant.

So, how exactly would I be the one thats butthurt?

Uh, for the eleventy-billionth time, I'm not a Missouri fan.

And you're missing the point completely.

Even if you HAD seen him play a lot, and he didn't play for your favorite team, you wouldn't be swallowing his load.

Your evaluation of him is biased because you're an Iowa fan.

So I'll ask again, hoping I eventually get an answer:

Why was Stanzi a 5th round pick?

I've never watched a single Iowa game. All i can go off of is what I see on Youtube, which obviously isn't much, I know that.

I would love to know legit reasons as to why he DID slide though. None of this "Statue in the pocket" shit because that's clearly not the case.

Inconsistant? I heard he was turnover prone up till his final year...
