Chiefs Early Afternoon Bullshit: Who's planning to attend the playoff game? - Page 13

Granted, nothing is set in stone yet as far as positioning is concerned, but who's thinking of making a trip to see the Wild Card game?

Per cdcox, we're around 96% to end up the 5th seed, and Indy is 88% to finish as the 4th seed. I've already booked a room in both Indy and Cincinnati, just to make sure I'm covered - and to get something booked before prices rise even further.

After doing some research, you can plan on spending a pretty penny in Indy - downtown hotels are obnoxiously expensive - $150 and up for Saturday night. Only way to stay cheap is to stay 6-7 miles away out by the airport and drive in on gameday. Cincinnati is cheaper, but downtown options are pretty limited.

So - who's going?

Just for the record, I am still in. Plane tix are ready to be reserved. I have not done the Indy thing yet, so looking forward to some new experiences.

Last time I went to a Chiefs playoff game in Indianapolis, it didn't end up well. Had a great time though. That whole city and my quarter of their stadium was all red lol.

Last time I went to a playoff game it too was against the Colts and it didn't end well either.

No, not going, but not because it's not a home game, but because I won't risk that kind of coin (and heart) on a team that apparently cares less about wins than the city they represent.

Too many "nice" people in the rants of the Chiefs organization for me to risk yet another road trip to watch these guys not prepare properly (IMO) and not play their hearts out.

And it's not the coin, it's wasting it (or the strong chance that it's wasted) that bothers me a little. What really bothers me is the heart-break these guys subject this city to.

Shit, wait......I went to the the bullshit playoff game against Ray-and-company... Well, there's my point made again!

I was at the January '04 game against the Colts. I'll say it again - if Jonnie Morton and Marc Boerigter could have remembered how to catch passes that day, the talk would have been of how Trent Green outdueled Peyton Manning in a no punt playoff game.

Basically what I'm saying is that we owe these ****ers big time.

I don't hate them (yet), at least not like Denver, and I can just admire owners who demand results from their employees. I'm not sold the Clark will ever become that since he was a swimmer from a man who only cared about profit and being seen as a "nice" guy, so it might be in his DNA be satisfied with profit. He's done some good things, but I need to see his minions to do some rather stunning things to their employees (in-season and post-season) before I think they're setting the right tone around the organization.

And I'm not saying the goofy shit the previous GM was "that" (it was just stupid), but something that tells these players they have to sacrifice themselves for the team. BB has it right IMO, and I'd like to see more of that around this team.

I've got airfare and hotel booked for 6 people to Indy. I thought I would book before flights and stuff went up. The goal was to see KC and it was made better by the fact that Cincy is 1.5 hours away and Chicago is pretty close. I want to catch 2 games.

Now I am starting to sweat a little as Cincy can still get the bye, Indy could as well.

I've been a fan of this franchise for over 30 years, and have never witnessed a playoff win in person, and obviously haven't seen one in any capacity in 20 years. As we all know, these opportunities don't come around often. Go when you can - who knows when you'll get to see another one live and in person.

This season looks so much like every one that's followed 93 that I feel no reason to stay around the KC area to keep attending games regularly. They're cursed by either some malevolent force or by terrible ownership that doesn't grasp what t takes to win championships in the modern league.

No. Tix are purchased either through Cincy or Indy. This is why we haven't moved forward yet on ticket purchases.

Clark has done things the right way.

When he took over, he started the youth movement and building through the draft. He has hired the top guy at gm twice and spent top dollar on the best available coach. He also went out and wrote a lot of checks over he last few years to pay for mistakes (paid out Haley early, paid out Pioli early, paid out Romeo early, etc) and move on. He also spent a lot to upgrade Arrowhead. He has given Dorsey and Reid anything they want in terms of writing the checks to get players in here and to keep players here.

Give this some time. It will all come together.
