We need to extend Alex Smith

Alex played the game of his life and he was BETRAYED by the defense

Alex Smith dropped 44 points on the Colts and somehow still lost. Alex is a hero. 44 points can win you a SUPERBOWL. What happened to the best defense in the league? They sure weren't out there tonight. You could cut all of them and it wouldn't matter. What matters is having Alex.

You keep saying 28 point lead. Then concluding it was Smith that failed. It's like there's a piece of your brain that's missing or something.

Did we win? The offense did stall after the fumble, as I said in this very thread if the fumble didn't occur I truly think KC would've won the game.

That's bullshit.

In the playoffs, if you score 13 in either half, you did your job as an offense. Especially against an Indy defense that was good enough to shut down a lot of the high flying finesse the league has...while missing the offenses best player after 6 plays into the game...then lost its second best wideout and backup running back.

FFS, putting up 44 under those circumstances was nothing short of amazing.

Some don't like smith. Doesn't matter what he does.

The offense scored 13 points in the second half. Iirc, had they averaged that all year, that's a top 5 scoring offense.

If "doing enough" means you're asking your offense to score every possession or score 50 points to win, you probably need to re evaluate your football thinking.

Where did the cushion come from? How'd we score? Why'd it go away?

Hint-The answer is, because Smith couldn't move the offense, only if you are mildly reeruned.

Thank you for recognizing one of the contributors of the loss.

So it's pretty convenient to use the win loss rhetoric now, but after a 9-0 start it was "gtfo" with that.

Like this http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201010...avens@patriots ?

Or maybe you're talking about this recent colts game he had where he had 0 touchdowns and less than 200 yards. Against the same team Alex had 300+ yards and 4 TDs on.

I truly think they win if a number of things happen. I truly think they win if the Colts are held to at least one FG in the second half instead of five TDs. I truly think they win if Charles doesn't go down on the opening drive.

Tribal, two questions.

How many teams have scored more than 26 points in a game this postseason?

How many teams have scored 44 total points this postseason?
