I think it's wise as of February 9 to take that stance. Ford certainly has enough time to get this boat off the rocks. The likelihood of that happening is very small, but if the worst case scenario plays out, your uncle won't have to say a word.

If it had happened with 8 minutes to go before halftime, I wouldn't have cared if Smart punched him in the nuts. But he cost his team a game because he let some middle aged jocksniffer get to him? Piss off.

Smart was the only reason his team was in the game. Also, the game would have been over if he didn't rush back to commit the foul on the open layup.

It's really the next 3 games that his shove is probably going to cost them that I'm sure he feels bad about.

One thing that is quite clear to me is how disappointed KC_Connection is that a racial slur wasn't said. It is pretty sad how many people were praying this was going to be a race issue.

Eh, if Smart is accusing the guy of using a racial slur when he didn't, then it is still a race issue. Accusing someone of racism when there isn't any is just as bad as racism itself IMO.

Whether he used the N-word or not, it sounds like this guy has a history. And according to John Lucas, he's said some messed up shit. I'm sure if Orr gets a pass for being PG in what he said here, it will be interesting to see if OSU players come out of the woodwork to tell some of those things. If that's the case, I really don't have a problem with him being called out for it, even if he did nothing wrong in this instance.

There is something to be mentioned though, that in the NBA those guys push and shove each other all the time, it's very much a "don't disrespect me, bitch, or I'm going to deck you" culture. A "I have to gesture in your face if I score on you" culture... etc. That's what these guys emulate.

Everyone encourages players to have "fire" and just this massive aggressiveness, to overpower your opponents by sheer will... Well, you can't just switch it off.

It's sort of like Richard Sherman. He was interviewed seconds after doing battle all afternoon with someone who he hates, and who hates him back, someone who is known for running his mouth all day. You stick a mic in front of him, and you get Richard Sherman still in combat mode. That's not surprising.

The only thing that is surprising here is that he shoved a fan, and he was probably just frustrated because his team is circling the drain and were losing again. It's just immaturity.

There's a big difference between players shoving each other and players going into the stands and getting violent with the fans. When Malice at the Palace happened, the NBA arguably overreacted in order to save their image as a league.
