Fisher to LT?

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs HC Andy Reid said he plans to go to camp this summer with former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher playing left tackle.

Sorry if Q

No, sorry.

I was talking about the "just give them a chance. The jury is still out" comment.

None of those guys rely as much on their legs as Alex Smith did to be effective. Smith also has had shoulder and concussion problems in the past. A flare up or reinjury of either could be a big problem for his long-term health.

The bigger issue, that I was trying to call out, is that with the exception of Justin Houston and MAYBE Eric Fisher (who hasn't proven he is even competent yet), all the rest of the "core" players are guys who are nearing the end of their prime/hitting the wrong side of 30.

It seems like a strange time to switch to a long-term build approach.
I didn't say he was holding back. I said that it is likely he was managing the game differently than when he was facing high-powered offenses and dealing with a struggling KC defense. He has been called a game manager for so long as an insult, now when it appears clear that it is exactly what he is doing, very successfully and to the strength of his team - people move away from the term

Finally. Players picked at 1/1 must produce immediately, and at least now we'll be getting value for the selection.

so what

not being tradeable doesn't make a draft pick worthless

15 picks lower reduces value but having Albert for another year to help our young Oline was valuable too.

Despite what people here say....

Fisher improved into an average right tackle by year end
Fisher was raw and inexperienced, and we knew the first year would be a learning curve
Fisher was raw AND had a short offseason due to new cba rules
Fisher is better suited for the left where footwork is more important than strength, and where he has more instinctual technique
Fisher was undersized and can easily grow into a left tackle frame. I'd expect a poe like improvement in conditoning

Lots of reasons to be concerned, but those things above are reasons to be optimistic that he will at least be average.

Love how you tried to throw the racist card in there. I don't like Geno bc he's a selfish douche.

I already said Geno will get 3 years like the rest, but that doesn't mean I think he will be successful. Jets need to win NOW and if Geno keeps doing what he did last year, he's going to the bench. If that happens I doubt he'll start again for any team.
You can bag on Fisher all you want. I think he'll be a good player, and 32 nfl GM's obviously didn't think as much for Geno.

It's not being hypocritical at all. I just don't like Geno.
