You either hate it or you love it because the weather is on the extreme obviously. 4 super hot months with very little break and 8 months of beautiful weather. That sold me. And the hot days you find a pool or stay inside. It does nothing to mess up my commute like snow though!

Tons to do and all 4 professional teams. Very low cost of living. It doesn't have a big city feel because it is so spread out so traffic is pretty good most of the time. You do have to get used to driving though and the miles on your car add up quick. People seem to kind of stick to themselves which you can see as either good or bad.

But we love it here and are not leaving for a very long time.

Phoenix? Are you high?

Median home price San Diego is near 450k. Phoenix is under 200k.

Hell, it's even cheaper to live here than Montana.

Nice try though.

I want what youre smoking. median house in SD is 350 and its close to that in phoenix. you cant find a shack there for under 200k. When i was looking for apts there 8 years ago they were 1400 a month. Care to guess what they are here? about 1400 a month. Not to mention i lived in az. The only things cheaper are gas and housing. everything else is more expensive. Food, beer, smokes, entertainment. 20 bucks for a movie ticket. 12 here.

http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living...=Phoenix%2C+AZ

You would need around 3,539.00$ in Phoenix, AZ to maintain the same standard of life that you can have with 4,400.00$ in San Diego, CA

It is not even close to that for median home price in Phoenix. We live in a very nice neighborhood, 2300 sq/ft house with a pool and our mortgage is under 1200/month.

Our friends live in Scottsdale in a 3b/2b house that cost under 250k.

Why do you think so many people retire here....because it's cheap!

Um so yea, you won't find that in San Diego. Your facts are wrong.

I call bs. my dad was paying more than that in Tucson and phoenix is twice as expensive. People retire there because of the percieved dry heat. When in actuallity its humid as hell during the summer. A lot of snowbirds come this way too. And my facts are life experience. ive lived out there. you couldnt pay me enough to do it again. but i did once.

You're calling BS on my mortgage payment?! Ok there buddy. I've got no reason to lie and I researched living in SD before moving here. It's WAY more expensive.

Net cost of living with 100 being the US average. Anything below 100 is lower cost of living and anything above is high cost of living.

San Diego 164
Phoenix 99

People talk about San Diego being expensive all the time. I've never heard anyone mention Phoenix being equal to San Diego in cost of living until today...and there's probably a reason for that because it simply isn't true.

Keep relying on life experience from years ago, instead of the facts from those who live here now and have learned to read research.
