Alex Smith's 2nd year looks alot like Trent Green's 2nd yr w/Chiefs

stat-wise and Because we are the Chiefs and DKTM

Trent Green 2002 (32 years old)
287/470 - 61.1% 3,690 yards 26 TDs 13 INTs

Alex Smith 2014 (30 years old)
303/464 - 65.3% 3,265 yards 18 TDs 6 INTs

Well sans the TDs but Green only had 17 in 2001 and Smith had 23 in 2013.

Returns punts for touchdowns.
He's runs jet sweeps like a mfer.
Already learning how to go deep for a catch.
Dave Meggett was a really, really ****ing good football player. That's not a slam at all. I don't know how you could think otherwise.

Would you take comparing Travis Kelce to Mark Bavaro as a slight too?

Illogical or pointless, likely both, but that's a digression overall from the punch-drunk stupidity of your post in its entirety.
You seem to have a serious reading comprehension problem.

This whole line of conversation started comparing Sandy's realistic acknowledgement that Smith is here to stay compared to his detractors, many of whom want the entire building to burn.

It doesn't matter if they grudgingly admit it's not likely to happen. It's what they harp on, hope for, and bitch about incessantly.

That's right, 2011- that's the year Alex Smith outgunned Drew Brees to take SF to the NFC Championship Game. That crazy deep pass to Vernon Davis...

My bad. I stand corrected.

Actually I hope for him to play with the intensity and the fire he played with in the playoff game against the colts every game.

I don't remember everyone from the list but two at least two of those guys were rookies. I don't know if Carr or Bridgewater will make it in this League it's little early say they won't but I would rather take a chance on a guy who has vastly more potential than a 10 year vet who hasn't done jack. The fact of matter is team can and have won with rookie quarterbacks they don't necessarily have to on a complete team. If the team has good running attack, a solid defense and are descent on special teams they can win.

Meggett was great in NY and NE, in the slot, out of the backfield or the old 'H-back' set, he did it all, a precursor to the Randle Els and Percy Harvins that followed.

Who said that Smith wasn't here to say? Who said that Reid, Dorsey, et. al weren't here to stay?

It absolutely does matter if they acknowledge its existence. No one is grudgingly admitting that it's not likely. The certainty of it is what breeds the anxiety and discontent.

Your entire train of thought in this thread comes from baseless claims about what you think others have said (that you can't talk about improving WRs or the line, both undeniably false).

In order for Sandy Cheeks to be in reality while everyone else isn't, there would have to be a belief that Smith isn't here long-term. Well, where is that belief?

There is a difference between a desire and a belief, and I don't think someone that conflates the two should begrudge anyone for reading comprehension issues, especially when they can't get elementary facts about what is and isn't said over personnel decisions, correct.

I would never start a rookie behind such a dumpster fire Oline.

Good call.

Add 'em to the list.

Over the half the league, Bowe would be a #3.

THAT is who is overpaid.
