Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Well, first off, that kind of distinctly sanctimonious tone that you use in the above post is exactly what I was criticizing both sides for whenever the subject comes up. It's a deflated ball; not an ethics crisis.

Second, you are butchering the story you are trying to tell. Brady, in his first press conference over deflategate, pointed out how he wanted the balls at 12.5 psi. I have no idea where you are getting the rest from.

Let's agree that it's 99% about the balls being deflated, and 901% about the whole team being a bunch of ****ing arrogant pieces of cheating shit.

Get the hell outta here. He's dropping the case? His lawyers must have told him he has no chance of winning. His wife is probably tired of the millions in legal fees he's paid as well. NFLPA is not flipping all of the bill for this crap.

Right. Made sense. The issue with appealing to the SCOTUS is that it creates uncertainty around the 2016 season. Depending on the timing of certain events, it's possible he could have ended up serving the suspension mid-season, or even late in the season, which is a pretty bad result for the team.

To run the risk of that for the VERY low probability chance that the SCOTUS takes the appeal doesn't make much sense really.

I thought it was about labor laws and the little guy? Brady was fighting for all the players. What a load of shit.

The more you talk, the stupider you look. The attorneys were hired by the NFLPA, his wife wouldn't need to fund his legal bills -- he's got tens of millions of dollars on his own, and the lawyers would've told him the truth -- that the odds were long.

More importantly, as noted above, the timing of certain events would have created uncertainty for the team during the upcoming season. More likely that, rather than cost or any other issue, was the driving force behind the decision. Better ot serve the suspension during the first four games of the year rather than middle or late, or even during the playoffs, potentially.

Plus, the likelihood that SCOTUS would take the case was probably less than 1%.

Time to move on, for the betterment of the team and season.
