How would you do that? Limit threads to certain number of pages? Posts? It's a mega thread because people are posting it it.

I never get involved in the contentious threads like those Alex ones. Like you said douchebaggery. But, douching on Alex is going to occur. Killing a type of thread is not the answer.

If people aren't interested it will drop off the front page. Besides, douchebaggery is an inherent part of Chiefs Planet.

He is talking more of the 2017 FA mega thread or OTA thread. I would keep ones like Royals and MMA.though.

The Eric Berry extension thread is an example. The thread started 6 mos ago. If some new news about Berry's extension comes out, just start a new thread. If I see an old thread with 10 pages of replies pop up, I have no desire to click on it and wade through all that old crap.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Some of it is a culture thing - people have gotten USED to the idea of megathreads. I wonder if some of it is fear of being called out by the repost police or something. Regardless, I hope we can find a way to improve that somehow.

Since this is a Chiefs board, I think mega threads for Chiefs related things are silly and really make the Chiefs news hard to find. I know I miss a lot because I don't click on the Chiefs mega threads and wade through all of it to find something new.

For those of us who love baseball, I think most have no problem posting in a megathread (Royals or Cards) as many posters here do not care about baseball and they shouldn't have to sift through daily baseball threads on the main page. Same thing with college basketball too. I think mega threads for those things make sense and aren't as difficulty to follow.

Segment that guana. Mega's for other teams, KU, Royals offseason, Draft, food, poop, etc. But individual threads at player level, or something appropriate.

I'm opposed to "Megathreds" for NFL Draft discussions.

Day 1, Day 2 or Day 3? Sure.

But megathreads tend to turn off people, so when draft rolls around, there are scores of "Who the **** is this guy? Is he any good?", which inevitably leads to "Dozens of us have been talking about this guy all year".

It just seems counter-intuitive, to me.

that is what it probably is. Like cdcox's example. Should be easily solved by posters not jumping on people for starting a new thread. Especially when it's a long time poster and not known for thread spamming the board.
