@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

People - especially NFL fans - always underestimate the value of consistency. Coaches prefer guys they can count on vs. guys who may be shit but also may be incredible You can't scheme around "potentially might be shit, but also might be all-world. We'll see when it actually happens."

NFL schemes are based on everyone working in concert to serve the whole. Even guys like Favre, Roethlesberger, and Mahomes - guys who can make magic happen by improvisation - are coached to reign it in and play within the system.

Saying that Peters "stepped it up when it mattered" is disingenuous, because it presupposes that regular plays do not matter. If you "step up" on 2nd and four in the start of the third quarter, you might not need to step up on 3rd and short with 2 minutes left in the game.

All the plays matter to coaches.

Peters tackled. How many first downs or touchdowns did he allow from "not tackling"

Fans took a dump on him for sitting through the anthem...which was always a staged event paid for by the DOD that the owners used as an additional cash stream. It wasn't even a protest against the military...football fans are stupid and think they are veiling their racism....they probably arent introspective enough to even realize they are doing it.

There has been video of Brady screaming at his OC...but it's all good.

This whole thing reeks of Hunt wanting (threatening with an ultimatum) to force his players to stand during the anthem....while he rips off tax payers in new Mexico. The hypocrisy is rich...
A decent number of fans treated him like garbage all season long. Then the same fans wonder why he wasn't motivated to play for those fans and wants out of KC. You're absolutely right. He was too outspoken for the midwest. Protestors all over the league and we're the only fans getting into noticeable fights with our own star players.

He can tackle but chose not to. That’s the bigger issue. But that really isn’t that important if you listen to people. Didn’t matter for Deion Sanders. Corners are paid for their coverage.

Know one in 2 seconds just off the top of my head. Raiders game on Oakland on drive he got personal foul on Carr. Could have lit up Patterson on a low throw on 3rd down but chose not to even touch him. Things about MP can be defended to a degree, but his tackling last year was not one of those.

I’m not trying to defend it honestly. It’s just not something I lose sleep over.

There is a line in his "Oakland to KC" video that made me cringe when I heard it. I don't know how he meant it, but it felt like a slip to me.

The hustle was alive and well, it was just buried.

If we somehow got Robert Quinn then we’d already be better than we were last year with Peters.

After a while, it was obvious why a talented welder was unemployed in the first place. His life outside work (drugs and alcohol), directly affected his work ethics and just general attitude toward leadership and coworkers. Over time, we were forced to let him go for the better of the line as a whole.

Although an entirely different scenario, this kind of related to Peters and the Chiefs organization. While Peters excels at his skilled profession, his attitude is detrimental to the team as a whole.
I'm not sure the two necessarily go hand and hand. KC just expects their players to keep their mouths shut and the fans love the hell out of their polite lunch pail hard working players. I liked the Chiefs having someone on the defense that had a little attitude. You don't want your locker room filled with divas. But the NFL is a place where attitude can be an important part of the puzzle.

I can't remember the last time the Chiefs had a guy on the field who was this cocky. Goofballs, yes. Divas or outspoken shit-talkers... no. We've never had an OBJ, Richard Sherman, or a Von Miller type. And judging by our reaction to this, I don't know that they'd even be welcome.
