“The next Mahomes” bullshit

This shit is getting out of hand. I mean FFS I get Pat is now THE prototype, but come on. I feel like 5 different guys have been talked about as “the next Mahomes”. Hopefully this is just offseason fodder and it doesn’t leak into the season.

Here are some dumbass examples of this

Just stop it. Andy Reid is so "smart" as a head coach that he believes his duty stops with the offense.

Hanging out on the bench with the guy that just guaranteed you keep your job until you feel youre done is great and all, but you need a complete team to win a championship.

Mahomes definitely doesn’t get enough credit, Mahomes>Reid here, but just look at Reid vs all-star McVay and how they manage the screen/short passing game. Reid is a more diverse play caller than McVay

McVay had no answer for NE or Chicago. Obviously Reid has a better QB than McVay, but some of it did come down to playcalling

Well in terms of offensive minds it doesn’t get much better than Reid or McVay.

Andy is the better innovator than McVay. I know this is a copycat league, but McVay clearly copied new innovative plays from us and this is been happening for two years

Remember when Jake Plummer tried that left handed pass against us near our goal line and it was picked? Taco John was always pimping him as a PLAYMAKER! I laughed my ass off.

Wow! You're completely nuts. Every coach makes boneheaded decisions from time to time. But to say that Andy isn't one of the best in the league is laughable. You don't get into the top ten in wins (and winning percentage) without being a top coach. The coach that made Alex Smith look like an MVP candidate gets no credit? Really?? The coach who everyone is copying his play calling is nothing special?? Whatever. There are plenty of teams that fear Andy Reid on gameday. If he had to retire today, every head coach in the AFC West would breathe a collective sigh of relief. But, tell you what. Why don't you quit rooting for the Chiefs and go be a Faiders fan. Maybe Chuckie will satisfy your insane expectations.

Andy's a top 3 coach in the league right now and once he wins 3 of the next 4 superbowls, he'll have his HOF spot all locked up.

I think it's hilarious that they keep comparing every kid to Mahomes now. He is the standard. I love it

EVERYBODY who works in and for the NFL (that includes players, coaches, front office personnel, media pundits, consultants, and reporters) routinely and annually sucks Andy Reid's dick for his innovative play designs. They all comment (yes, this includes Belichick) about continually changing and transforming his own offense to both fit the roster talent he has on hand while also making life a living hell for all but the best defenses who are well-coached, deep, and talented. He's done this as both an assistant and head coach (I believe this is his 20th year) and accomplished it with game managers, backups, young QBs, old QBs, running QBs, and scaredy cat QBs like Alex Smith. He's got the biggest coaching tree of head coaches currently in the NFL, which includes offensive and defensive coaches both, a testament to his ability to not just play with Xs and Os but also teach players as well as coaches. And he's arguably one of the coaches most responsible for introducing college spread concepts into the modern NFL and making it work... something he trotted out only a few years ago. He's also continuing to push the envelope of innovation in offensive playcalling, and as his young QB continues to develop, he's only going to get better and better and coming up with shit that confuses and astounds defenses and their coaches.

Kliff Kingsbury as a college head coach has done very little to change from what Mike Leach taught him. He's never coached in the NFL before, and the only experience he's had around an NFL roster came as a 3rd string QB in 2003 and 2005 for the Patriots and Herm Edwards Jets, respectively. His resume suggests that it will be unprecedented if he can come up with plays that not only work but that can evolve and adapt to the NFL landscape over the course of the time he has in Arizona with Kyler Murray.

But yeah... Andy Reid can't manage his time outs properly. He's no better or smarter than Kingsbury!

There will be a lot of teams that expect their "undefeated rookie" QB's to be the "next Mahomes".

Was that the Thanksgiving game that got him benched for the rest of his career?

Good times...

Andy got schooled, hard, in the AFCCG. Belichick took away Kelce and Hill for the first half and the offense couldn't adapt fast enough. It seemed like nothing worked.

Either he took a dive, is a terrible on the fly adapter...or Kraft has used his extreme wealth to purchase a custom RF interceptor...where they can listen in to whatever channel their is opponent is communicating on.

It wouldn't surprise me, in the least, if the latter was found to be true. No coach has found success once they leave that franchise...unlike Reid's coaching tree. It's a strange pattern...doesn't seem to matter who is on their roster year to year. You would think coaching under Belichick would rub off on his assistants...but they all leave and flop.
