Chiefs Offense Will Be Impossibly Stacked With Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman

Here we go...prepare for dozens of these articles now that HE GOOD has spread to the mainstream.

https://www.12up.com/posts/chiefs-of...n-01dcsggf9nbh

Quote:
If we've learned anything about the last 20 years of Andy Reid as a play caller, it's that he loves to chuck the ball downfield. If we've learned anything about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes, it's that he has a howitzer for right arm and loves the go route.

Now that Tyreek Hill will no longer face legal charges in his child abuse case, it seems he will soon pair with equally speedy Georgia rookie Mecole Hardman out wide, the man once thought to be his immediate replacement.

Buckle up, folks. This is going to be fun.

With Travis Kelce now firmly the best tight end in the league, the trio of him, Hardman, and Hill presents the deepest group of skill position players in the gme. With Sammy Watkins also able to blow by corners out wide and Damian Williams a steady presence in the backfield, there is no glaring weakness in this offense, even without Chris Conley and Kareem Hunt.

Pair that with the evil genius that is Reid on the sidelines and a quarterback in Mahomes who can throw a ball 80 yards with the effortlessness of a javelin thrower, and you can expect a lot of prevent defenses against this group of stallions the Chiefs have.

While the defense will determine how far this team will go, Kansas City will have NO problem putting points on the board in the 2019 season, and will quickly regroup after receiving the likely news of Hill's return.

The only thing he is elite at athletically is straight line speed in the 40. That isn't always football speed. Average vertical for a 1st or 2nd round WR, and he didn't want to run agility tests at the combine should tell you something. A short WR received should ALWAYS want to do the agility tests unless they know their results wont be advantageous.

But as a #3 or #4 he's damn good. Still wish we would not have wasted a 1st rd draft pick on him, though.
So you already consider Hardman a wasted pick, even though we have not even been to camp yet?

Teams will already need to play a safety back so Hill will not burn them deep- are they going to keep another DB 30 yards deep for Hardman too? If not- that "straight line speed" will be pretty unstoppable. We have 2 deep threats that are faster than any CB in the NFl right now- how are you going to stop them with single coverage?

Hardman has elite speed AND agility. He’s still learning to play the position. It’s still relatively new to him. Get a ****ing clue.

Also, he wasn’t a 1st round pick idiot.
I was about to say the same thing. The dudes on a roll. What will he say next?!

Hardman is hardly just a speed guy. I mean, we are spoiled watching Hill so everyone looks pretty slow and stiff compared to him, but Hardman is going to be really really fun to watch this year.

IN OTA"s they said Hardman was the fastest guy on the team (minus Hill)
Plus he is another weapon on Special Teams.

Until we hear the Chiefs and the NFL say publicly that Hill is cleared to resume normal team activities, I’d not be dancing in the streets.

Time will tell. Nobody knows for sure. Luckily for him he's in the absolute best system possible to succeed. But keep throwing out personal insults. You seem like a high quality individual.

He's better than Dexter McCluster. But he's not going to be a Tyreek Hill. He's in between the two, and he's not worth a 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Unfortunately at the time the Chiefs had more uncertainty at the WR position than they do now.

Hardman ran a 6.75 3 cone. Anything below 6.8 is considered very good.

He didn’t run many routes at Georgia though, so he’ll have to work on that. But goddamn if this guy is your 4th receiver, you’re in a great spot.

He’ll have time to develop as a complimentary weapon this year. Great situation.

I'm getting a Steve Breaston to a Larry Fitzgerald kind of a vibe, possibly even Thielen to Diggs, when talking about Hardman to Hill. Size differential's aside, the complement that it'll give Mahomes and the WR core should spell danger for any defense. If Watkins plays 13 or more games, I could definitely see bye week again.

There are tons of WR's who ran 4.4 and 4.3's who end up sucking ass in the pros. This guy has to develop a bunch to warrant his pick. And he very well may, but I don't see it at this point. Not everyone is going to grow into running routes as well as Tyreek did. That isn't a normal occurrence. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope Hardman destroys defenses, but I'll just note that if it was only about speed, Chris Conley would still be here.

Combine results:

Chris Conley:

40 - 4.35 sec
Bench - 18 reps
Broad jump - 139 inches
Vertical - 45 inches
3-cone - 7.06 sec
20 yard shuttle - 4.30 sec
60 yard shuttle - 11.65 sec

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2011/profil...ley?id=2552652

Mecole Hardman

40 - 4.33
Bench - 17 reps
Broad jump - 119 inches
Vertical - 36.5 inches
3-cone - Edit: incorrect data posted. I have lost face.
20 yard shuttle - ?
60 yard shuttle - ?

This is true, but he wasn’t a first round pick, and isn’t an Al Davis sprinter trying to be a football player type either. That’s the way you made him sound. There were a couple of us in the draft forum that liked Hardman before the draft and I’ll admit I was excited that we picked him. My take may be wrong too but he looked like a guy who was very fluid in making his cuts at full speed. I don’t expect him to be running a lot of complex routes, but I think he will get some jet sweep, reverse-type plays this year that will be fun. He also doesn’t have to be perfect because he’s not the first, second, or third guy. He will have lesser CBs covering him. I like his chances.

I don't know where to find the article right now, and don't feel like searching for it, but something like 80% of Hardman's production last year was from the slot position. If he turns into a Wes Welker it would be pretty hard to complain much.

I don’t think that Hardman 3 cone is accurate.

He’s got agility and play speed that Conley simply doesn’t have. It’s not even close.

He was a 2ND round pick, late 2nd.

We didn't have a 1st (Frank Clark)
