If Goff isn't a great pure drop back guy, then what exactly is he?

Because he ain't a scrambler and he doesn't improvise worth a shit. He has a fantastic deep ball and generally very good accuracy when he's protected.

I'd say 'pure drop back guy' is exactly what he is.

It's weird if you look at his numbers, he is far away the best when he uses playaction, in the Superbowl without being able to use it very well he played terrible.

I'd still call that a dropback passer, but if you are going to distinguish that from a 'pocket' passer in that the former utilizes the play action more, I guess I won't argue.

Conventionally I would say a dropback passer is just a guy that makes his throws from a pocket at the back of his drop, regardless of how they get there. Semantics either way.

I guess it's ultimately McVay's reliance on the 11 personnel that make the TE less of a pass-catching weapon in their offense, but it still seems odd to dedicate those kinds of resources to a glorified blocking TE.

Somehow Demetrius Harris just became underpaid...

Simply astounding to think about.

With this, I can't imagine what Jason Dunn would be worth in today's market.
