Raiders/Broncos Epic Fear of the Chiefs/Mahomes

Apparently no one cares enough about the Chargers to fear/feel anything, but the Raiders and Broncos are scared shitless...

Mahomes is the NFL’s weekly example of an electric current charging across a 100-yard field.

It’s not so much about protecting a quarterback — although that helps — as it was against the likes of Buchanan and Bell and Lanier.
Rather, it’s about getting to one.

Which, when it comes to Mahomes, can feel hopeless at times.

In four career starts (and wins) against the Raiders, he is 82-of-135 passing for 1,194 yards with 11 touchdowns and one interception.

“Obviously, the Chiefs are the team we haven’t been able to beat in the division lately,” said Davis, whose team is 2-12 against Kansas City since 2013. “It’s one of the reasons we drafted edge rushers (in Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby) last year. I don't think their "scared shitless". Mark Davis recognizes that Mahomes is a great QB in the division/league and his team needs to improve if they want to win the division anytime soon.

All other 3 teams in the division need to draft QB's to compete and one of them might get lucky and hit on a good prospect.

A generation of kids is going to grow up in Denver wincing at the sound of Mahomes' name the way I still do at Elway's.

I bought my car at Manhattan Beach Toyota which became John Elway Toyota right after I bought it. Ugh. So all my free service and correspondence stuff I had to see that name. It's back to Manhattan Beach Toyota again. I guess he isn't the genius businessman everyone thought.

I remember when Elway tried to open up one of his furniture stores in KC. Like any Chiefs fan would want to sit on a John Elway freaking couch. Dumbass.

The last two days I’ve listened to Denver sports radio a bit on my way to work and pretty much the entire broadcast consists of them discussing how the Broncos can have even the faintest shot at competing with KC. They are counting on us not being able to keep key players from leaving for big money once we pay Mahomes. That’s about the best hope they have.

Mahomes contract is literally a top thread on the Mane right now. Basically the only hope is that Mahomes commands so much salary that the Chiefs become a Packers like team from 2011-2019 (which, if that is our worst case scenario, wow).
