Raiders/Broncos Epic Fear of the Chiefs/Mahomes

Apparently no one cares enough about the Chargers to fear/feel anything, but the Raiders and Broncos are scared shitless...

It’s not so much about protecting a quarterback — although that helps — as it was against the likes of Buchanan and Bell and Lanier.
Rather, it’s about getting to one.

Which, when it comes to Mahomes, can feel hopeless at times.

In four career starts (and wins) against the Raiders, he is 82-of-135 passing for 1,194 yards with 11 touchdowns and one interception.

“Obviously, the Chiefs are the team we haven’t been able to beat in the division lately,” said Davis, whose team is 2-12 against Kansas City since 2013. “It’s one of the reasons we drafted edge rushers (in Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby) last year. Oh yeah - I work in rural Colorado, that is a feeling my co-workers have had since the Monday Night game last year. Before the game, I got a lot of trash talk that season - especially when I wore my Chiefs tie - first the **** talk was about Mahomes interceptions in the pre-season, then it was that he was in for an awakening against Denver’s defense, but after the left hand pass?

It was just complete praise and resignation. He got multiple Elway comparisons that day and a bunch of people were just in awe of how he played (even from opposing fans). Some have a faint hope about Drew Lock developing into a solid starter, but most of them seem to be in that resigned state. The only trash talk my students could muster was that Mahomes “didn’t play that well” in the SB - to which I said, “wait which QB came back down from 10 in the Super Bowl?” But honestly, I’ve received overwhelming congratulations from my students this week, in fact. it’s been pretty amazing to see how many of my students have been sporting Chiefs gear and may have even got into the NFL following Patrick Mahomes. It is truly a new era.

I live in Redskins country, also have experienced tons of Raiturds fans being very scared. Not just that, also Ravens fans claim they would have beaten us in the playoffs. Talk about insecurity and fear. Never met any Donkhoes fans around these parts.

Denver is doing a nice job putting pieces around Lock. Fant, Sutton and Lindsay are good. Shurmur is a good OC from Andy’s tree. It’s like they are trying to copy us.

There is no in-between. In other words it’s a lot like Chiefsplanet.

I ventured over to a donk forum before we played them the 2nd time last year. There were many of their delusional fans that said they would take Drew Lock over Mahomes. Lock might develop into a decent QB. Maybe even a good one. Hes only played 5 games. So a lot remains to be seen with him. But There is a different between a "good" QB and a QB like Mahomes.

I'm not a Lock defender nor a buyer. I originally had him in the Ryan Leaf category of bustability so to speak.

He's just doing better than I thought he would, has a lot of raw ability, & is still young so it's possible he could have a good career.
