I don't think we'd be able to get him cheap enough but just hypothetically if all we give up is a 5th for him then the backfield would be seriously explosive. Everything I'm reading is next year he's only about 4 to 5 mil not too bad. And it'll free up our 1st round pick for something OTHER than RB which I don't want them to do.

There are a whole lotta "If" involving Fournette and that doesn't really seem like a move the current Chiefs staff would take, especially given that they'd need to clear at least another $4+ million on top of the $5 million they'll need to clear in order to sign their draft picks.

I think the right play here is to let Jacksonville cut him, then if the Chiefs are interested, inquire about a Vet Minimum deal in order to "restore" his once shiny reputation.

Otherwise, there's just too much risk involved, particularly for a team that has their sights on a second consecutive Super Bowl victory.
