Chiefs draft notes from Terez/Robinson podcast

Just listened to Terez and Robinson on the Yahoo Sports podcast.

- Robinson heard from 2 different sources that the Chiefs have been kicking the tires on a lot of potential 1st round round WR’s. Specifically mentioned Reagor and Shenault.

- Terez said the Chiefs will go IOL early (first 2 days) and watch out for Cesar Ruiz after a trade down.

- Terez likes Dobbins and has heard the Chiefs are interested as well, but they also really like DeAndre Washington.

- The bottom line is the Chiefs are going to “pump up the asset of Mahomes” early.

I wouldn't hold missing on Wilson as the worst thing..problem is that was a long time ago.

Kiper refuses to adjust to what actually works in the NFL right now.

I’m not holding that one against him too much. Just stating that he downgraded Wilson significantly based on just his height.

It's always funny that most of us only know a handful of names and have to look up whoever we pick. Mecca and a couple of you aside. I don't really know a name but I wouldn't mind a kick ass RB at 32.

32 is basically the start of the 2nd round anyways...

Id almost bet we take a RB with our 2nd round pick. There should be a top 5 RB still there.

From what I gather prime targets at RB are Dobbins and Swift with Zack Moss as the final option if they want a RB in the 1st-3rd round realm.

Most of the draft "experts" have no real idea what's going to happen when we're heading into a normal draft. This year? They are completely clueless. There's no way to know what teams think of players with everybody isolated. The teams certainly aren't going to volunteer information.

My memory isn't all it used to be, but I vaguely remember quotes from Mahomes' reps saying that they had talked to the Chiefs for like 90 straight days, yet also said KC did a great job disguising their interest.

I think we're all going to be surprised tomorrow night, assuming they actually pick and don't trade back.

I believe you’re correct.

And yea I fully expect to be surprised tomorrow night. Not just by the Chiefs either. Half of the 1st round.
