Yes and no.

If Mahomes doesn't play another down for some reason, or maybe only plays a couple more seasons and then stops for whatever reason, we'll look at his career and many will think "he was a flash in the pan." Or a one-hit wonder, whatever sounds right to you.

It wouldn't be that different from that NBA guard (can't remember his name now) that came off the bench as a rookie or a 2nd-year guy, and nearly took his team to the championship. Everyone jumped on his bandwagon for a couple years after that, but he got hurt or something and disappeared. No one looking back now is going to say "that guy was one of the greatest guards in the modern era." Because he didn't stick around long enough and play at that high level for long enough.

Woodson, on the other hand, has a 17-year career of consistent greatness to contrast/compare with any #10 pick.

Now, it won't be very long before you'll have to revisit this conversation and admit that Mahomes is the greatest 10th pick ever. 3 or 4 more years? Just not right now.
