Seven schools have publicly acknowledged NCAA Notices of Allegations:

Kansas: Five Level-I violations
NC State: Two Level-I violations
Louisville (on probation), Oklahoma State, South Carolina: One Level-I violation

USC and TCU also received one, but didn't reveal allegations.

I have been saying it. I am not sure why some of these schools tell them to **** off we are creating a new association or organization. All it takes is one big conference to say **** it. Preferably the sec.

The KC media reported on the NCAA's rebuttal to KU's response to the allegation.

Very, very damning. IMO Bill Self has coached his final game of his career. He will receive at least a 5-year "show-cause" penalty. KU BB gets at least a 2-year tourney ban.

Well, I'm a Jayhawk, so I hope they tell the NCAA suck nuts.

To be honest, this lock down, and the loss of revenue by the NCAA, would make it the perfect time for a couple or three billionaires to come together to form a new collegiate athletic association.

The NCAA is just a group that all schools agree to belong to. No school is required to be a member school of the NCAA.

The NCAA is one of the most corrupt institutions on earth. The profit billions and billions of dollars, while the member schools get millions, and the athletes that make the University millions, and the NCAA billions, get "a free education, and room and board" which could possibly be valued at $25,000 - $40,000 a year.

If KU, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan State, Louisville, UConn, and a few others left the NCAA just for basketball, someone would pay them a shit ton of money to broadcast or stream their regular season games, and even more to broadcast or stream their post season tournament.

People would still watch March Madness, but without those teams, it would suffer.

I wonder if the NCAA is going to hold Coach K accountable for standing by and letting Nike pay Zion to go to Duke (which is apparently a major transgression now judging by the KU/Self/Adidas allegations). Somehow I doubt it.

In any case, the NCAA system won't exist in its current capacity within a decade. Their move to allow the athletes to start taking endorsement money last week wasn't the end of anything (as I'm sure they hope it will be). It was only the first step towards the inevitability of these players finally getting a share of the pie and the end of the 'amateurism' model.

If Zion asked KU for money, and a job for his mother, why does anyone think he dropped those demands for Duke and Coach K?

Coach K is just like Coach Wooden. UCLA players routinely hung out with known gamblers and Vegas mafia types, and it's clear that they were getting paid. Wooden pretended like he knew nothing, and because of his reputation, no one ever said anything. At one time I had an article saved on an old computer that showed pics of Lee Alcindor and a couple of other players in a hot tub or pool with 3 known gamblers (they were sited by name but I can't remember) who had already been investigated for fixing and then betting on college football games.

I believe that Bill Self runs as clean of a program as possible at the blue blood level, but I am sure that questionable things have occurred, probably both with and without his knowledge. But the same is absolutely true for Coach K. Yet the media would never run a story about any alleged misconduct at Duke.

Zion reportedly asked KU for $100 grand and a job for his mom. But he went to Duke for free. Sure.

I said as clean as possible. I don't have any disillusions about what takes place during recruiting, but I think that Self tries to stay above board as much as possible.

He once saw John Wall after a tournament in high school, and just said "good game John" and then realized that he had committed an infraction, and self reported himself for it. I don't think he is arranging $100K payouts.

I think all blue blood programs probably commit some violations, but he isn't having people take the ACT for players ala Calipari at Memphis, or making huge cash payments like Sean Miller.

And Adidas isn't the only shoe company that has reps out steering kids to certain schools. Nike is notorious for steering kids to their sponsored schools.

But really, they are breaking NCAA rules, so who cares. The NCAA needs to be investigated for fraud and corruption more than any member school.
