This game had to be circled on the schedule, by everyone. But we come out and play as vanilla as I've ever seen them, on both sides of the ball. This should've been a statement game.

Okay, I know, I sound like I'm complaining. Maybe I am, and I shouldn't be. I should be celebrating the win. And I am, inside. I just don't understand why we played the way we played.

We moved the ball at will three of the first four possessions. One was stymied by Watkins fumble and the other two stalled. I agree that we were pretty vanilla at the end of the two stalled drives. I think Andy wanted to save the two scoring plays for later in the season, if he could score TDs in safe mode. He brought the secret plays out to salt away the win, but they were always there.
