I think Travis kelce is criminally underrated. People know he's good even without mahomes. But while mahomes helps him I don't think there's an appreciation for what that demands of kelce.

Watching the new England game I don't know if there's a tight end or receiver who gets clobbered the way he does off the snap. The dude battles through it and never once complains. But you can see in some games it wears down on him

What a tremendous team player.

I like the fact that last week, CBS pregame was talking about Kelce and Kittle in the same breath. Kittle is great but I get tired of hearing how great he is compared to Kelce.

They're almost the same player in a lot of respects - Kelce is a much better blocker than people realize because the offense is so different from Shanahan's.

The simple fact is that there's Kelce, Kittle, and everybody else. And it's not even really close.

Pretty much.

If Kittle is a better blocker Kelce runs better routes.

Kelces footwork is absolutely filthy. He’s going to be open for quite some time after his speed fades as long as he can stay healthy. Dude is nasty.

Hes considered by everybody to be a top 1 or 2 TE.....how is he "criminally underrated" again?

I think people generally view him like Witten. They know he's good but they're not sure why he's good. Gronk was unstoppable where kelce is just good. Kittle is this complete player where kelce is just a solid receiver.

Because he has mahomes some may credit much of his success to mahomes. Which is unfair considering how much work he puts in to every route. Because he was a goofball early in his career leading to some brain farts I don't think he gets enough credit for how much effort he puts into every play. Maybe underappreciated is the better term.

Was Gronk more "unstoppable" than Kelce? I'm not sure even the stats bear that out.

Maybe. When Gronk was healthy he was pretty unstoppable. No single defender was going to cover him. He was just too big and physical a receiver. And he was pretty fast as well.

I mean, I just watched him out-run a DB last weekend, fcs. So he's still got some speed left in him.

How many single defenders can "cover" Kelce?

Kelce will go down as the best receiving TE of all time. He’s embarrassed the best defenders again and again.

Myles Jack, Tremaine Edmunds, Fred Warner, Kwon Alexander. Doesn’t matter. He gets open. Derwin James is the only defender I’ve ever seen shut down Kelce in a game 1v1.

I’ve never seen a TE move laterally as quickly as Kelce either. He knows where the zones are and how to get open.

Haters can say what they want, but Kelce isn’t a “solid” receiver. He’s GREAT.

Hopefully he can play long enough. Because let's be real, he needs to have a couple more years like this to really be considered the best. When it comes to HOF voting, longevity counts far more than it probably should.
