The whole system is broken and stupid. Playoff appearances and rankings should be based solely on record. No team with a losing record should EVER make the playoffs if there are better teams that are sitting home because they play against decent competition. It's wrong. It's stupid. It's backwards. It's like daylight savings time; everybody hates it, but nobody does anything to change it. And I can't remember hearing an announcer, player, coach or talking studio head complain about it, which is also nuts.

I somewhat agree with the losing record thing but the rules are set prior to the season, you win your division you are in the playoffs. Everyone knows this going in.

This stuff doesn't happen enough to change anything, I mean does it really matter if its a 9-7 team vs a 7-9 team getting their ass kicked in the playoffs? Win all the games you can and deal with the consequences.
