Correct, except Brady played in the most incompetent division in football for almost 2 decades.

Outside of what, two seasons for the Jets, the teams in his division were beyond bad.

Not only was the product the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins put on the field bad, but the organizations themselves were complete jokes, hiring bad head coaches over and over. Hell, the Dolphins hired and fired Gase, and then the damn Jets hired him after the Dolphins fired him FFS.

Brady and every other QB in the league have zero control over the schedule, but Brady absolutely benefited by playing in the AFC East.
